...The National Weather Service in Midland has issued a flood warning
for the following rivers in Texas...
Rio Grande above Presidio 6WNW affecting Presidio County
Rio Grande at Candelaria 3N affecting Presidio County
.Recent rainfall has caused river levels to rise to flood stage
at Candelaria 3N and above flood stage at 6WNW of Presidio.
River levels are forecast to remain in flood stage through
tomorrow morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists are urged to heed flood warnings, and exercise caution if
traveling through this area. Vehicle-related fatalities are the
number one source of flood fatalities in West Texas and New Mexico.
If you encounter a flooded stretch of roadway, do not attempt to
cross it. You and your vehicle could be swept downstream in rushing
floodwaters. Turn around, don't drown!
River levels are high. Ranchers and farmers should move livestock
and machinery out of flood-prone areas if time permits.
Keep in mind that any additional rainfall across the area could
significantly change the present forecast stage.

stage, possibly resulting in flooding of FM 170 in low areas.
Homes in Candelaria are not expected to be affected. Farmers and

The river levels on the Rio Grande at Candelaria 3N and Presidio
6WNW have fallen below flood stage.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists are urged to heed flood warnings, and exercise caution if
traveling through this area. Vehicle-related fatalities are the
number one source of flood fatalities in West Texas and New Mexico.
If you encounter a flooded stretch of roadway, do not attempt to
cross it. You and your vehicle could be swept downstream in rushing
floodwaters. Turn around, don't drown!
River levels are high. Ranchers and farmers should move livestock
and machinery out of flood-prone areas if time permits.
Keep in mind that any additional rainfall across the area could
significantly change the present forecast stage.

fog are expected at the west Texas and southeast New Mexico terminals
the next 24 hours. Winds will be generally be northeasterly at 10
to 20 mph and gusty at times.

DISCUSSION...
An upper low was INVOF wrn AZ with a plume of deep rich theta-e air
with PWs of +1 to +2 standard deviations in the sw flow aloft e
of said low. Included in the sw flow is a weakening 3h jet of
70kts. Today most of the CWFA will be just on the back side of the
theta-e ridge axis, exception will be the far reaches of the
Lower Trans Pecos/Big Bend Region. Early this AM SHRA/TSRA across
wrn PB/Upper Trans Pecos near the 3h jet look to move into SE NM
then dissipate, elsewhere SHRA are slowly decreasing in coverage.
Models are in pretty good agreement that there is/will be steady
stream of shrtwv trofs with the sw flow aloft that will have a
good chance to impact the Lower Trans Pecos/Big Bend Region/Edward
Plateau area thru Thursday. As such these areas will be favored
for hydrologic concerns/flash flooding and the watch will continue
thru Thursday AM. For areas of the PB/SE NM (on back side or
within gradient of theta-e ridge) the SB instability will be
absent per NAM12/GFS CAPE/LI forecast (very cool temps and poor
LRs). There is some low level lift/weak upglide I305K and with the
mentioned jet scattered SHRA are the most favored scenario for
this PM across PB/SE NM. We will opt to expire watch early for the
PB at 23Z today. More of the same instability wise on Thursday
and low levels will be absent of upglide with focus being across
the far southern Lower Trans Pecos/Big Bend where flooding rains
will remain possible and the watch may need to be extended there?
Cool temps will continue Thursday. NAM12 is outlier developing
high end scattered SHRA on Fri and will tend to downplay precip,
but it should still be cool. Warmer and mostly drier from Sun-Tue.
