This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Afternoon heat index values will rise to near or just over 105
degrees across much of central and southern Arkansas. Take
frequent breaks if working outside...especially during the
hottest part of the day.

Isolated thunderstorms will also be possible this afternoon
across the area. The overall threat for organized severe weather
is not expected at this time. However...an isolated strong storm
may be seen...with gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall
possible with the strongest storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday Through Saturday

Afternoon heat index values of 100 to 105 will be possible over
central and southern Arkansas Monday and Tuesday. Take frequent
breaks if working outside...especially during the hottest part of
the day.

Rain chances will increase by late Tuesday...as a cold front
moves into the region. At this time...the threat for severe
thunderstorms is low. However...isolated storms could become
strong...with gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall the primary
concerns.

Dry weather will return by Thursday...as the front moves south of
the region.

At 140 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Lakeview in Baxter County, or over Bull Shoals, moving east at 30
mph.

Dime size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this
storm.

indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
