central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible early this
evening. The primary threats are large hail and damaging wind
gusts.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Heat index values are expected to exceed 105 degrees for Tuesday
and Wednesday afternoon for parts of Missouri and Illinois.

Wilbur Park. This storm was nearly stationary.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Webster Groves, Arnold, Fairview Heights, Clayton, Cahokia,
Crestwood, Columbia, Richmond Heights, Sunset Hills, Brentwood,

At 618 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms south of Salem, moving east at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Centralia, Salem, Wamac, Central City, Odin, Helm, Iuka, Junction
City, Kell, Walnut Hill, Cartter and Selmaville.

This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 109 and 116.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
