The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Logan County in central Kentucky...
  Simpson County in south central Kentucky...

* Until 1115 AM CDT

* At 517 AM CDT, automated observing stations over the warned area 
  indicated between 4 and 6 inches of rain already has fallen. 
  Several roads are closed or impassable due to high water.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Russellville, Auburn, Adairville, Justice, Gordonsville, Black
  Jack, Dennis, Geddes, Crossroad and Mcelroy Ford.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the 
warned area over the next few hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM CDT FOR
LOGAN AND SIMPSON COUNTIES...

At 853 AM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in 
Russellville. Up to 6 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is 
already occurring with some evacuations and water rescues already 
taking place. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Russellville, Auburn, Adairville, Justice, Gordonsville, Black Jack,
Dennis, Geddes, Crossroad and Mcelroy Ford.

The heavy rain has ended, and calls to county officials have 
revealed that most of the flood waters are now standing rather than 
flowing. So, the Flash Flood Warning is allowed to expire and has 
been replaced by an Areal Flood Warning.
