Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay
away from windows.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

At 938 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Brouillette to Indian Lake to near Reddell,
moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Opelousas, Oakdale, Ville Platte, Marksville, Bunkie, Mamou,
Simmesport, Leonville, Melville, Moreauville, Cheneyville, Turkey
Creek, Palmetto, Bordelonville, Bayou Current, Morrow, Effie, Sunset,

limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore the warning will be allowed to expire.  However gusty 
winds are still possible with these thunderstorms, especially over 
Avoyelles Parish.

central and southwestern Louisiana.

.UPDATE...
Update to add severe thunderstorm watch 296, add severe wording
to zones and increase POP's across central Louisiana. A line of
severe thunderstorms continues to congeal and work its way to the
south. 00Z sounding at LCH showing plenty of instability with CAPE
values of 3500 J/KG. Think the environment may become a little
less favorable after sunset, but there has been enough breaks in
the cloud deck this afternoon to reinvigorate what had been a
fairly well worked over atmosphere.

For the 5/29/17 0000 UTC TAF package.

AVIATION...
VFR all sites at this time with decaying cu field and cirrus blow
off from convection to the north spreading southward. Made a best
effort based on radar trends and latest hi-res guidance to bring
convection into KAEX with a TEMPO thunder group. Left out of
remaining sites as nature/southward extent of convection remains
uncertain. Will AMD as needed. Prevailed VFR through the
overnight period, bringing VCTS all sites by 15Z tomorrow with an
apparent active day of convection on tap.

DISCUSSION...
A few showers and thunderstorms around the region today have
pretty much ended with temps ranging from the upper 80s to near
90 on south winds. Boundary to the north is expected to sag down
and into the region. South of the boundary dew points to remain in
the low to mid 70s through the overnight hours while to the north
a bit cooler. Mrng lows xpcd to fall along aftn dew point spread.
Rains through the overnight hours. The heaviest rains will move
into southeast Texas lake region then spread into Louisiana. This
boundary will stall over southern Louisiana which will mean that
we are looking at showers and thunderstorms for the start of the
week and somewhat cooler temps due to rain cooled air. The pattern
we are moving into will continue thru midweek as another system
comes down and falls apart.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop tonight across interior
southeast Texas and central Louisiana as a slow moving cold front
approaches. There is a chance for a few storms to be marginally
severe overnight with wind and hail being the main threat.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

A slow moving cold front will continue to migrate toward the I-10
corridor by Tuesday morning before stalling. Isolated severe
storms are possible with wind and hail being the main threats.

Showers and thunderstorms will develop tonight well ahead of a
frontal boundary sagging down from the north. Winds and seas will
be higher in and around thunderstorms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Thunderstorms are expected to continue ahead of a slow moving
frontal boundary which will stall near the coast by Tuesday
morning. The front should wash out on Wednesday but rain chances
will remain elevated at least through midweek. Winds and seas will
be higher in and around thunderstorms.
