* Major flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 97.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  tomorrow late evening.
* Impact...At stages near 100.0 feet...Major flooding can be 
  expected. Numerous homes and camps are flooded around the lake. 
  Water covers Highway 394 on the west end of the lake. Highway 113 
  downstream of Bundicks Lake is subject to flooding.
* Impact...At stages near 99.0 feet...Moderate flooding begins. 
  Several roads around the lake become flooded. Flood waters begin to
  get onto Highway 394. Highway 113 downstream of Bundick Lake may 
  have water begin to flow over the road.
* Impact...At stages near 98.0 feet...Minor flooding begins around 
  the south end of the lake. Some of the lowest structures on the 
  north end of the lake begin to flood.

* Impact...At stages near 20.0 feet...When the river is rising and 
  forecast to reach 20 feet, Highway 112 begins to flood between 
  Strothers Crossing and West River Road.
* Impact...At stages near 19.0 feet...When the river is rising and 
  forecast to reach 19 feet at Glenmora, flooding of several 
  structures near Beechwood Church is possible.
* Impact...At stages near 18.0 feet...Numerous roads near the river 
  are closed, including Highway 112 which is flooded for about 1.5 
  miles between Highway 121 and Beechwood Church. Major flood damage 
  downstream will occur downstream of the gauge.

  Road become impassable. Recreational areas in Sam Houston Jones 
  State Park are under water, including the playground and campsites 
  nearest the river.
* Impact...At stages near 5.0 feet...Low spots on South Perkins 
  Ferry Road have water on it. Water is over some boat docks on South
  Perkins Ferry Road and over boat ramps at Sam Houston Jones State 
  Park. Extensive marshland flooding will occur upstream and 
  downstream from the park.

however as a cold front approaches from the north ceilings will
develop and lower. MVFR ceilings will linger into tomorrow
morning and become VFR through mid day. Gusty NW winds are
expected tomorrow.

DISCUSSION...
Sunny and warm across the forecast area this afternoon, with
temperatures reaching up into the lower/mid 80s away from the
immediate coast.

A vigorous upper trof noted in water vapor satellite imagery over
the TX/OK panhandles will continue translating generally ENE
tonight reaching NW MO early WED. Meanwhile, the associated SFC
low over Central OK will track TWD the mid MS River Valley, with
the trailing CDFNT progged to sweep through the area prior to
noon. Ahead of the front, a plume of relatively shallow Gulf
moisture will surge northward into the region tonight.
Considerable cloud cover is expected to be the primary result, but
isolated shower activity is possible within this regime of
WAA/moist isentropic ascent and via forcing along the front
itself. TSTM chances overall appear slim, but will increase a bit
late tonight into early WED over South Central LA where somewhat
better MSTR and lift are progged.

Main hazard with this front continues to be the expected strong
and gusty W/NW winds tomorrow, and have gone ahead and issued a
Wind Advisory for roughly the SE 2/3 of the area for sustained SFC
winds around 20 mph with frequent gusts of 30 to 35 mph.
Occasional gusts to near 40 are possible, with a guidance
consensus pointing toward South Central LA as having the greatest
probability. Winds will subside inland by tomorrow evening, with
the effect of the cooler and drier continental airmass apparent in
low temperatures WED night/THU am falling into the upper 40s/lower
50s.

Pleasant, mild, and dry weather will continue THU and FRI amid SFC
high pressure building in from the west underneath deep NW flow
aloft. Temperatures will begin to moderate FRI night into SAT as
the SFC high pressure shifts off to the east and ridging aloft
builds in from the west. Global models coming into slightly
better agreement that SUN will also remain dry, with low to mid
range rain chances returning MON and TUE as a slow moving front
sags toward the region.

MARINE...
Light to modest south to southwest winds will continue tonight. A
cold front is forecast to sweep through the area Wednesday
morning. A tight pressure gradient behind the front coupled with
strong winds within the lowest few thousand feet above ground
level will result in a period of sustained winds of 15 to 20 knots
with frequent gusts of 25 to 30 knots. Occasional gusts near gale
force are possible over the Gulf waters. Winds are expected to
subside over the coastal lakes and bays by Wednesday evening, but
will remain elevated over the Gulf waters into Thursday morning. A
light offshore flow will prevail Thursday and Friday as high
pressure settles over the region, with onshore winds returning
Saturday and increasing into Sunday.
