The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Custer County in central Nebraska...

* Until 1100 PM CDT

* At 501 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has 
  already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly due 
  to over four inches of rain that fell in the area yesterday. 

Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches are possible in 
the warned area.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 2 between mile markers 247 and 271.
 Highway 92 between mile markers 258 and 273.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN CUSTER COUNTY...

Local flooding along creeks and streams continues to be a threat 
after another round of heavy rain this evening. Over six inches of 
rain has fallen the last two days. No additional rainfall is 
expected tonight.  

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Merna, Anselmo, Victoria Springs State Recreation Area, Lillian,
Milburn, Pleasant Hill and Gates.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 2 between mile markers 247 and 271.
 Highway 92 between mile markers 258 and 273.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
