CRAFT ADVISORY. 

SMALL CRAFT SHOULD CONTINUE TO EXERCISE CAUTION ACROSS THE 
WESTERN FLORIDA STRAITS FOR WINDS OF 15 TO 20 KNOTS SUNDAY.

.DISCUSSION...
By late this morning and early afternoon, coverage of showers
decreased and the Florida Keys and its coastal waters enjoyed a
partly cloudy afternoon. Visible imagery show low level winds from
the southeast and land observations are reporting winds of 10 to
15 knots with gusts to around 20 mph. Temperatures were 85 to 90
degrees along the Keys.

.FORECAST...
High pressure to the east of the Florida Peninsula today will
extend over the sunshine state through around Tuesday night and
then slide south. Weather conditions locally will be dry, with
winds from the east to southeast general direction. On Tuesday,
the high pressure will start to move east and a cold front,
extending from the northeast United States, will be progressing
southeast and approach central Florida by Thursday morning and
stall. As this front approaches, moisture from the western
Caribbean will be pushed north into our area. Meaning, rain and
active weather are expected from late Tuesday through the weekend.
The forecast was slightly adjusted based on the latest guidance
from the GFS but remains under guidance. This will be adjust it as
we get closer in time. Temperatures will remain in the upper 70s
to upper 80s range every day.

.MARINE...
Winds picked up some speed late this morning along the western
waters of Hawk Channel and outer gulf. However, these are expected
to drop 20 knots later this evening and overnight and continue to
decrease a few extra knots on Sunday. By Monday, winds be near 10
knots and turning from the southeast on Tuesday and from the
south on Wednesday.

.AVIATION...
Winds will be the primary issue in the TAFs. Expect southeast (110-
120 degrees) winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts near 20 knots through
early evening. Expect generally dry conditions through the period.
Some isolated very light showers will develop but coverage too low
to mention in the TAFs.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS AND ADJACENT
COASTAL WATERS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Keys coastal waters
today due to sustained east to southeast surface winds near 20
knots.

A Small Craft Advisory will likely be required for the coastal
waters of the Florida Straits tonight. A Small Craft Advisory may
be required for the coastal waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Hawk
Channel tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

A Small Craft Advisory may be required for the coastal waters of
the Florida Straits Sunday and Sunday night.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time for Monday through
Tuesday.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible along the Florida Keys, as
well as over nearshore and offshore waters surrounding the island
chain Tuesday night through Friday. The primary thunderstorm
hazard will be cloud to surface lightning strikes.
