.AVIATION...

For the 18Z TAFs...Showers and thunderstorms continue to develop
across the Caribbean waters south of PR and northwest of St John.
Currently, light to possibly moderate rain is over PR. Near term
convection will affect USVI and possibly eastern PR. Additional
development is expected this afternoon across the central and
western sections of PR but may not be as widespread due to
mid/upper level cloud shield inhibiting daytime heating. VFR conds
are expected outside of storms with a persistent mid level cloud
deck and tempo MVFR cig/vsbys in and around convection.

UPDATE...
Not many changes needed to the forecast. Increased PoPs in the
Caribbean waters and adjusted sky and temperatures. Flash flood
watch is in effect and still expecting heavy rainfall again today
which will worsen the conditions in PR. Updates sent.

AVIATION...

Updated for the 12Z Aviation Discussion. Showers and
thunderstorms continue to develop and stream northward across
eastern Caribbean, first starting early across the Virgin Islands
and eastern PR and moving westward toward western PR through the
day. Will expect showers and thunderstorms to remain off and on
through the current TAF period with periods of MVFR ceilings and
visibilities in and around activity. Winds in any of the stronger
activity will become variable with gusts of 25 KTs or greater
possible. There may be a brief window late in the TAF period to
where activity should quiet down a bit, but will continue to keep
VCTS/VCSH in the TAFs for now as moisture remains abundant over
the region.

SHORT TERM...
Morning showers and thunderstorms have quieted down over Puerto
Rico early this morning from latest IR satellite imagery, but
convection is still fired up farther to the south and southeast
along the Leeward Islands. PWATs have jumped from 1.84 inches from
the 12Z Friday TJSJ to 2.25 inches from the 00Z Saturday sounding
as the tropical wave moves overhead. The abundant moisture will
lead to further development of showers and thunderstorms,
especially when adding daytime heating and orographic lifting to
the mix. The highest surge of moisture continues today and Sunday
with a brief period of weaker activity this evening. The Flash
Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday night but may need to
be extended into Monday morning mainly across portions of Puerto
Rico.

Northerly swells and elevated swell periods will continue the High
Risk for Rip Currents this morning along the northern portions of
Puerto Rico and the eastern portions of St Croix. Will see the
trend to begin to diminish this morning for northern PR, with High
Risk continuing along eastern coastal areas of St Croix through
the early evening.

LONG TERM...
Drier air begins to enter the region as high pressure nudges in
from the east across the Leeward Islands Monday into Monday night.
Moisture still remains elevated enough to continue chance POPs
through much of the week with PWATs near 1.7 inches, with greatest
chances across the mountain region of PR.

MARINE...

Small Craft Should Exercise Caution as seas remain elevated
around 4 to 6 feet with winds of 15 to 20 knots. In addition,
showers and thunderstorms are expected over the weekend. Seas and
winds may become higher and stronger in and around any
thunderstorms.

HYDROLOGY...

A Flash Flood Watch Remains in effect for Puerto Rico and the US
Virgin Islands through Sunday night. Deep tropical moisture will
lead to heavy rain fall over the region with 2 to 4 inches of
rainfall each day. Isolated higher amounts are possible,
especially in higher terrain.

efecto para la Represa Guajataca debido a inundaciones repentinas
potencialmente peligrosas rio abajo del Rio Guajataca.

.Inundaciones...Una Vigilancia de Inundaciones Repentinas esta en
efecto debido a las lluvias fuertes anticipadas hasta el fin de
semana. Cantidades de lluvia de 2 a 4 pulgadas con cantidades mas
altas localmente son probables. Esto empeorara la situacion actual
en Puerto Rico y resultara en preocupaciones adicionales de
inundaciones.

.Tronadas...tronadas con lluvias fuertes y breves vientos en rafagas
seran posibles hoy y esta noche a traves de Puerto Rico y las aguas
adyacentes.

.Corrientes marinas...Existe un riesgo alto de corrientes marinas
para las playas del norte y noroeste de Puerto Rico hasta las 8 AM.
Un riesgo moderado de corrientes marinas continuara luego de las 8
AM.

.Dias Dos a Siete...domingo a viernes

Aguaceros y tronadas continuaran hasta el domingo. La Vigilancia de
Inundaciones Repentinas continua en efecto hasta el domingo en la
noche. Luego, aguaceros y tronadas seran posibles cada dia hasta la
proxima semana.

Riesgo moderado a alto de corrientes marinas es posible que regrese
para mediados de la semana.

At 133 PM AST, a strong thunderstorm was located over Aguas Claras,
or near Ceiba, moving north at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Fajardo, Naguabo, Humacao, Ceiba, Luquillo, Roosevelt Roads, Anton
Ruiz, Aguas Claras, Luis M. Cintron, Punta Santiago, Ramos, Playa
Fortuna, Duque, Bajandas, Daguao, Rio Blanco, Palmer, Comunas and
Candelero Arriba.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Ceiba, Luquillo, Patillas, Gurabo, Emajagua and Roosevelt Roads.
