Rainfall that occurs over the headwaters of the Big Sandy, Cumberland and Kentucky Rivers will also lead to significant rises on these tributaries, resulting in minor flooding. Localized flash flooding will also be possible, especially along low lying areas and near creeks and streams near the Tennessee border, and in the higher terrain along the Virginia border. Flooding along the Kentucky and Cumberland Rivers, and their tributaries, will likely linger through the start of the week.
