The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Knox County in southwestern Indiana...
  Central Daviess County in southwestern Indiana...

* Until 245 PM EDT

* At 1147 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimated 2 to 2.5 inches 
  of rain had fallen across eastern Knox County near Monroe 
  City since 130 am EDT. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Washington, Loogootee, Monroe City, Wheatland, Montgomery,
  Cannelburg and West Boggs Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM EDT FOR
CENTRAL KNOX AND CENTRAL DAVIESS COUNTIES...

At 125 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the thunderstorms that 
produced heavy rain`earlier across the warned area had ended.  Flash 
flooding is likely still ongoing...especially over eastern Knox 
County near Monroe City and Wheatland.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Washington, Loogootee, Monroe City, Wheatland, Montgomery, Cannelburg
and West Boggs Lake.
