large hail the main threats. The threat of storms should move east
of the area by 5 pm.

Minor to moderate flooding will continue along the Illinois River

...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR WEST CENTRAL CHRISTIAN AND SOUTH
CENTRAL SANGAMON COUNTIES UNTIL 530 PM CDT...

At 451 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Virden, moving northeast at 50 mph.

Nickel size hail will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Springfield, Chatham, Auburn, Rochester, Pawnee, Divernon, Edinburg,
Thayer, Tovey, Berry, Sangchris Lake State Park, Glenarm, Sicily and
Lowder.

This includes Interstate 55 between mile markers 77 and 89.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Lincoln.
