At 148 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking moderate to heavy rain
showers moving north around the interstate 77 corridor. Stream
gauges across the Charlotte metro area are beginning to rise and
some areas could see minor flooding over the next few hours. This
area will be watched for possible flood advisories or warnings
through the morning.

Locations to be impacted include...
Gastonia, Rock Hill, Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, Kannapolis,
Downtown Concord, Monroe, Chester, Central Charlotte and South
Charlotte.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The combination of gusty winds and saturated soil conditions will
cause scattered trees and power lines to fall. Seek shelter inside an
interior room.

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters. Do not drive across
flooded roads.
