Starting tuesday, a return to warmer temperatures and lighter winds is expected. && .UPDATE... The short term forecast is in good shape with no updates planned. && .PREV DISCUSSION /405 AM MST/... Low pressure currently developing near the Pacific Northwest will eventually move inland and across the Great Basin over the next several days. This will bring breezy to strong southwest winds through Monday, along with a gradual cooling trend. Winds may reach advisory thresholds this weekend, especially by Sunday. The most noticeable cool down period will be Monday into Tuesday morning. Light zonal flow and warming temps are anticipated to develop by the middle of next week. Conditions expected to remain dry throughout the 7-day forecast period. && .AVIATION...For the 18Z package...VFR conditions will prevail across northern Arizona over the next 24 hours. Smoke from area fires may affect flight paths through the period. From 18Z to 02Z Saturday...Surface winds SW at 15-25 kts with gusts from 25-35 kts.
