Starting Friday, troughing over the western United States will bring a cooling trend and increasing southwest winds through Monday. && .DISCUSSION... High pressure will be aligned near the AZ-NM border today with well above normal temperatures continuing across the Northland. Persistent moisture across eastern AZ will allow for additional chances for showers today, mainly for the White Mountains. Main impacts during the 7-day forecast, however, will likely be strong and gusty winds developing for the weekend and early next week as low pressure pushes across the Great Basin. Winds may reach advisory thresholds during this period. Daytime temps to drop a bit Monday and Tuesday with the trough passage.
