Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected over portions of north and central Georgia this afternoon into early evening. The main hazard will be brief wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph, along with locally heavy rainfall and cloud to ground lightning. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday... A chance of thunderstorms will exist across portions of north and central Georgia, mainly during the afternoon and evening, through Saturday. On Sunday there is a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms over far northwest Georgia. No hazardous weather is expected at this time on Monday and Tuesday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

COUNTIES UNTIL 245 PM EDT...
At 210 PM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was over Towns, or 7 miles
south of Alamo. This storm was nearly stationary.
HAZARD...40 to 45 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning
and heavy rain.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.
Some locations in the path of this storm include
Alamo, Glenwood, Scotland, Towns, Jordan and Spring Hill.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
