.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Sunday Night/...
Weak upper trough lingers over the northern Gulf area this
afternoon. Water vapor curve showing a bit drier air lingering over
parts of Ga...however afternoon heating has helped to produce widely
scattered showers and thunderstorms. No real trigger for the
convection...so development anywhere is possible. Have gradually
diminished pops tonight...no pops after 06z but a few storms could
linger late.  Models showing an increase in moisture from the
southwest late tonight and this may make for some early morning
clouds. Otherwise Sunday looks like another day with diurnal
convection. A frontal boundary drifts southward into TN overnight
Sunday and have increased pops into likely for the far north Sunday
night...with chance or slight chance elsewhere.

Mav/Met temperatures look reasonable and have stayed close.

.LONG TERM /Monday through Saturday/...
No changes made to the extended forecast with a generally weak,
summertime pattern continuing. Medium range models still in
pretty good agreement through the beginning of next week. A weak
cold front approaches Sunday night and sags into the forecast area
Monday. Broad upper- level trough dominates the eastern U.S., but
more significant upper dynamics remain well north of the forecast
area. Surface front is also not especially distinct providing
only weak surface forcing. This is still enough to produce a good
coverage of convection, mainly across the north late Sunday
through Monday, shifting into central Georgia Tuesday. Weak
dynamics, minimal shear and general lack of strong instability
points to a minimal threat for severe thunderstorms at this time.

After Tuesday the extended forecast period becomes a lot less clear.
Medium range models show a wide spread in the evolution of the
potential tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. GFS has trended
toward the more northern solution, but keeps the system relatively
weak while the ECMWF continues to resolve a much weaker low heading
west across the Bay of Campeche toward eastern Mexico. With this
uncertainty, I have elected to keep the forecast for the latter half
of the week somewhat conservative for now, basically continuing the
pattern of scattered diurnal convection and near normal temperatures.

.AVIATION...
18Z UPDATE...

Pretty typical summertime pattern to continue for the area and
associated terminals for the next 24 to 36 hours. Thunderstorms
were developing and may affect the taf sites so have included
tempo at all locations. Stratus possible late tonight but have
only gone for SCT for now as not very confident with this.
Winds varying around south...but have continued with a direction
favoring the west side.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North and Central
Georgia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon,
lingering into the evening. A few strong thunderstorms will be
possible. The primary hazards will be frequent lightning, gusty
winds, small hail and heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday...

There is a chance of thunderstorms each day. The best chances will be
late Sunday through Tuesday as a weak cold front settles into the
region and stalls. The primary hazards will be frequent lightning,
strong, gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to
submit reports of severe weather or flooding through the web by going
to weather.gov/atlanta.

...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHWESTERN BLECKLEY AND
NORTHEASTERN PULASKI COUNTIES UNTIL 345 PM EDT...

At 312 PM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was over Baileys Park, or near
Cochran...moving north at 5 mph.

  HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning
           and heavy rain.

  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
           street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Some locations in the path of this storm include
Cochran, Hawkinsville, Paulk, Mobley Crossing, Hartford, Pulaski
State Prison, Porter, Baileys Park and Empire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.

At 336 PM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was over Dexter, or 13 miles
southwest of Dublin...moving north at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind...pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
           ground lightning.

  IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light...unsecured objects.

Some locations in the path of this storm include
Dublin, Chester, Dexter, Dudley, Cadwell, Rentz, Montrose, Harlow,
Yonkers, Goldsboro, Rebie and Rowland.
