Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...

  Suwanee Creek near Suwanee affecting Gwinnett County


.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

The latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the United 
States Geological Survey.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a
* Flood Warning for 
  The Suwanee Creek near Suwanee.
* From early this morning until this evening.
* At 4 AM Monday the stage was 6.0 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by early this morning and 
  continue to rise to near 8.5 feet by this morning.The river will 
  fall below flood stage by this afternoon.
* At 8.0 feet...Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding begins along 
  the creek upstream and downstream from the gage at U S Highway 23 
  or Buford Highway. Portions of the Suwanee Creek Park off of 
  Suwanee Creek Trail begin to flood to Martin Farm Road. This will 
  also include areas behind the Suwanee Elementary School and the 
  George Pierce Park.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.5 feet on Jan 20 2002.

...Flood Warning extended until this evening...The Flood Warning 
continues for
  The Sweetwater Creek near Lilburn.
* Until this evening.
* At 7 AM Monday the stage was 12.1 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* The creek will continue rising to near 12.5 feet by late this 
  morning. The creek will fall below flood stage this afternoon.
* At 13.0 feet...Minor flooding will continue to expand further into 
  the Northwood Country Club Golf Course upstream from the gage on 
  Club Drive...and in the woodland areas downstream from the gage...
  and for the next four miles until the creek merges with the Yellow 
  River. An old concrete golf cart bridge around 300 feet downstream 
  from the gage will be around two feet under water.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 12.6 feet on May 3 2010.
