Sweetwater Creek near Lilburn affecting Gwinnett County .Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and rivers which will cause flooding in some areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect life and property. The latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the United States Geological Survey. && GAC135-171642- /O.NEW.KFFC.FL.W.0069.170717T0810Z-170717T1642Z/ /STWG1.1.ER.170717T0801Z.170717T0900Z.170717T1042Z.UU/ 410 AM EDT Mon Jul 17 2017 The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a * Flood Warning for The Sweetwater Creek near Lilburn. * From early this morning until this afternoon. * At 4 AM Monday the stage was 11.0 feet...and rising. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 11.0 feet. * Forecast to rise to near 11.9 feet by early this morning.The river will fall below flood stage by later this morning. * At 11.0 feet...Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding will occur in portions of the Northwood Country Club Golf Course upstream from the gage on Club Drive...and in the woodland areas downstream from the gage and for the next four miles until the creek merges with the Yellow River. continues for
The Sweetwater Creek near Lilburn.
* Until this evening.
* At 7 AM Monday the stage was 12.1 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* The creek will continue rising to near 12.5 feet by late this
morning. The creek will fall below flood stage this afternoon.
* At 13.0 feet...Minor flooding will continue to expand further into
the Northwood Country Club Golf Course upstream from the gage on
Club Drive...and in the woodland areas downstream from the gage...
and for the next four miles until the creek merges with the Yellow
River. An old concrete golf cart bridge around 300 feet downstream
from the gage will be around two feet under water.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 12.6 feet on May 3 2010.

* At 7 AM Monday the stage was 7.8 feet...and steady.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* The creek will begin to fall this morning.
* At 8.0 feet...Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding begins along
the creek upstream and downstream from the gage at U S Highway 23
or Buford Highway. Portions of the Suwanee Creek Park off of
Suwanee Creek Trail begin to flood to Martin Farm Road. This will
also include areas behind the Suwanee Elementary School and the
George Pierce Park.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.0 feet on Dec 1 2010.
