...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 8 PM PDT WEDNESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM to 8 PM PDT Wednesday. 

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 203.Fire weather zone 
  204.Fire weather zone 283. 

* THUNDERSTORMS...There will be a potential for isolated to 
  scattered thunderstorms with lightning activity level of 3 
  impacting the area. Fire crews should be aware that gusty and 
  shifting winds are possible in and around thunderstorms.

* IMPACTS...Storms will be accompanied by some rainfall but 
  given the amount of lightning expected and that fuels are very 
  dry the likely result will be numerous new fire starts. Gusty 
  outflow winds may contribute to fire spread. Even with some 
  rainfall, initial attack resources may be overwhelmed and 
  holdover fires are likely.
