Storms are expected to develop over Kansas and Iowa in the late afternoon and move into our area after sunset. Some of these storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds being the main threat. This would be the hottest heat index temperatures of the year so far so precautions may need to be taken for those sensitive to heat related illnesses.
