The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central and Southern Jones County in east central Iowa...

* Until 200 AM CDT

* At 1050 PM CDT, emergency management officials reported many ditches
  and fields are full with water from around Fairview and Anamosa to
  near Onslow where doppler radar estimates between 2 to 3 inches 
  of rain has already fallen. Additional thunderstorms will continue
  to move across the warned area over the next couple of hours with 
  flash flooding expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Anamosa, Olin, Wyoming, Oxford Junction, Martelle, Onslow, Morley,
  Center Junction, Canton, Oxford Mills, Wapsipinicon State Park,
  Hale and Central Park.

Additional rainfall amounts of around an inch are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 200 AM CDT FOR
CENTRAL and SOUTHERN JONES COUNTY...

At 1139 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicates up to 3 inches of rain 
has fallen from north of Fairview to Anamosa to Center Junction
and Onslow with flash flooding likely occurring. Doppler
radar shows the rain has diminished to mainly light to pockets of
moderate intensity. However, additional showers and thunderstorms
over Benton and Linn Counties will likely move back across
the warned area over the next 1 to 2 hours bringing additional 
heavy rain and further increasing the threat for flash flooding. 

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Anamosa, Olin, Wyoming, Oxford Junction, Martelle, Onslow, Morley,
Center Junction, Canton, Oxford Mills, Wapsipinicon State Park, Hale
and Central Park.

Additional rainfall amounts of around an inch are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
