Southern Erie...Wayne and Wyoming. * Through this evening. * A very moist airmass will move into western NY behind a warm front this afternoon bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms. Slow moving storms could bring a quick one to two or more inches of rain within an hour with flash flooding possible across the Western Southern Tier, Genesee River Valley and western Finger Lakes this afternoon and evening. * With heavy rain already occuring earlier this morning, it will not take much rainfall to cause flooding in some area creeks and streams. Urban areas and areas with steep terrain will also be vulnerable to flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means the threat of flash flooding exists along rivers and creeks. If you are in the watch area you should monitor weather conditions closely.
