The heat index, or feels like temperature, will reach 105 to 110 each afternoon Saturday through Monday across the Lower and Mid Rio Grande Valley. ...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...
At 239 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking quickly developing strong
thunderstorms near Palmview, Alton and just west of Mission moving
southeast at 20 mph.
Pea size hail and winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with
this storm. Also, very intense rainfall is expected with rainfall
rates up to 3 inches per hour with amounts up to one to two inch in
a short period of time.
Locations impacted include...
Edinburg, Mission, Pharr, San Juan, Alamo, Donna, Hidalgo, Palmview,
Penitas and Sullivan City.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
