The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore the warning has been cancelled.  However gusty winds and
heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

.SHORT TERM...
Today and Tonight.

This AM at the surface we have a low over New England with a cold
front extending southward toward Long Island and southwest across
VA/TN and back into OK. The surface low is expected to move off into
the Atlantic today and drag the front to the east with it. As it
does so, we will see the front sag southward into North Alabama
slowly today. However, the upper flow today is weak across the
southern states and the front is expected to progress slowly or
stall out today into tonight across the northern part of the cwa.
With some enhancement of lift from the approaching front, we should
see our highest rain chances across the northern counties this
afternoon. This elevated rain chance/cloud cover should help to keep
temperatures a few degrees milder overall, especially in the north.
Have removed heat indices mention from HWO as a result with all
values in the forecast grids below 100.

.LONG TERM...
Sunday through Saturday.

An upper level trough extends through the Great Lakes and into the
Central Appalachians on Saturday. This trough digs southward over
the weekend and stretches a weak cold front from the trough axis.
There's not too much in the way of forcing to push the front
through, so it slowly drifts through Central AL Sunday night before
stalling in Southern AL early Monday morning. Models have been
trending lower on the coverage of storms along the frontal boundary
as it moves through the area. Still have roughly 50% coverage on
Sunday with 60% coverage in the southern most counties.

Behind the front, northerly flow sets in across Central AL, leading
to drier weather and fewer afternoon storms. Models still have the
trough cutting off a low late Wednesday. Expect this to be more of a
broad energy that retrogrades westward through the end of the week
rather than an organize cut-off low. Low level ridging and continued
northerly flow should keep our rain chances more around the 20-25%
range with near-normal high temperatures each afternoon.

.AVIATION...
18Z TAF Discussion.

A surface boundary along the Alabama and Tennessee state line will
sink slowly southward today and become stationary near the I-20
corridor tonight. Sct to numerous tstms will develop across north
central Alabama this afternoon and impact many if not all TAF
sites. The storms will contain heavy rainfall with vsbys below 3
miles. The storms will be most active between 20z and 23z,
decreasing after 01z, and mostly dissipated by 03z. Low cigs and
fog will likely form overnight along the I-20 corridor due to a
stalled out frontal boundary, with widespread cigs aob 500 feet
agl and vsbys below 3 miles. The low cigs/fog should burn off by
14z.

At 1234 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles west of Summerville Georgia, moving southwest at 15 mph.

Pea size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Cedar Bluff, Little River Canyon National Preserve, Sand Rock,
Gaylesville, Cornwall Furnace Park, Weiss Lake, Blanche, Little River
Falls, Fullerton, New Moon, Yellow Creek Falls, Chesnut Bay Resort,
Broomtown, Howells Crossroads, Waterhouse, Chesterfield and Little
River Canyon National Preserve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
