.DISCUSSION...

Aloft...At 500 hpa...A 495 dam low 200 nm north of Adak will move
northeast over the Pribilofs this evening at 501 dam as a 498 dam
low develops over the Central Aleutians and moves to Nunivak
Island. The low will then move northeast into the Western Interior
Saturday afternoon, and the Upper Yukon Flats by Sunday morning.
A 532 dam high remains north of the New Siberian Island with
ridging extending southeast over the Eastern Arctic Coast.

Surface...A 965 mb low will move to Nunivak Island this afternoon
then move SE into the northern Gulf of Alaska by Sun morning as a
broad area of low pressure develops over mainland Alaska. A weak
ridge will move to the SE Bering Sea by Sun Morning, and over the
SW mainland Sun night. A weather front associated with a 945 mb
low in the Western Bering Sea will move to the Eastern Bering Sea
Mon and over the West Coast Mon night.

Arctic Coast and Brooks Range...High pressure in control over the
Arctic bringing Northeast winds 15 to 30 mph along with local
blowing snow which will continue through Saturday with
visibilities ranging from 1 to 2 miles at times. Winds will
diminish on Sunday.

West Coast and Western Interior...Low moving to Nunivak Island
will spread some snow to the Lower Yukon Delta through tonight.
Snowfall amounts will be around 2 to 4 inches. A stronger front
will push across the west coast on Monday bringing a rain/snow mix
for Saint Lawrence Island and the potential for several inches of
snow for the Seward Peninsula and Nulato Hills. The snow will
spread across the western Interior on Tuesday.

Central and Eastern Interior...Gap flow winds across
the Alaska range this afternoon with gusts to around 45 mph through
about midnight before diminishing. Temperatures will continue to
cool over the next couple days. Weak shortwave aloft moving in
from the south will bring light amounts of snow for the northern
and Central interior on Saturday and Sunday.

Coastal Hazard Potential Days 3 and 4...None.
