.SYNOPSIS FOR NORTHWEST COAST...
A 999 mb low 400 nm north of Demarcation Point will continue to
move north and east into the high Canadian Arctic tonight and
Sunday. A warm front stretches from near Wainwright into the 
northeast interior and will continue to move north and east over 
the north slope tonight. A 990 mb low over the western Bering will
move north over eastern Siberia Sunday.

.SYNOPSIS...
Aloft...
A strong short wave trough from Deadhorse to Northway will move
east of the Alcan Border this afternoon. Strong winds and area of snow
associated with this will move east of the Alcan border by this
afternoon as well.

A long wave ridge over the Eastern Bering Sea and West Coast of
Alaska will build over mainland Alaska tonight and Sunday, then
progress over Eastern Alaska and Western Canada Mon and persist
there through the middle of next week. A long wave trough over the
Sea of Okhotsk will move over the Bering Sea Sunday, and over
Western Alaska Mon then persist into the middle of next week.
This will cause conditions to dry and warm over the Interior and
West Coast tonight and Sun then become gradually wetter and cooler
during next week.

Surface...
A 990 mb low 300 nm north of Prudhoe Bay will move to 300 nm north
of Demarcation Point as a 997 mb low by 4pm Sat, and then continue
moving east. South of the low there are west winds 20g30kt from
Barrow east. These winds will decrease at Barrow this am, at
Deadhorse by noon, and at Barter Island by 4pm today. High surf
or coastal flooding will decrease today as the winds decrease.

An Actic front from this low to Inuvik to Eagle to Fairbanks to
Point Hope will move to Eagle to Bettles to Point Lay by 4pm Sat,
to Old Crow to Umiat to Wainwright by 4am Sun, to Arctic Village
to Deadhorse to just north of Barrow by 4pm Sun, and then move
along the Arctic Coast from Barrow East Sun night into Mon. Snow
along the front will cause up to 2 inches of snow today along the
south slopes and north slopes of the Brooks Range. Expect just
light snow of flurries south of the Brooks Range. Another 2-4
inches of snow is possible from the Dalton Highway east tonight.
Snow has changed to rain along and south of the front. Expect
little if any accumulating rain south of the front.

An occluded front in the far western Bering Sea will move to the
Chukotsk Peninsula to Adak by 4am Sun, to Wrangel Island to the
Chukotsk Pen then south by 4pm Sun, and dissipating. South to
Southwest winds 25-35 kt ahead of this front will spread
over the Bering and Chukchi Seas tonight and Sun. This will bring
elevated surf to the area from Kivalina to Point Hope from late
tonight through Sun night with a surge of 2 ft.
This will bring a surge of 1 ft above normal tides to Barrow Sun,
but with south to southwest winds blowing mainly offshore at
Barrow on Sunday, do not expect more flooding.

A strong low moving into the Gulf of Alaska Sun will move to near
Kodiak Mon. This will bring a chance of rain to the West Coast,
Western and Northern Interior Mon, but bring a moderate to strong
chinook to the Alaska Range and southern Interior Mon.

Coastal Hazard Potential Days 3 and 4...None.

...Snow in the Eastern Brooks Range Through Sunday Morning...

Snow is expected to develop in the Eastern Brooks Range today and
continue through Sunday morning. Between 2 and 4 inches of snow
is expected along the Dalton Highway from Atigun Pass north
through Sunday morning. Up to 6 inches of snow is possible east
of the Dalton Highway through Sunday morning.
