area have reached flood stage. Abrupt river rises occured this morning on the 
Manatee River Near Myakka Head as a result from steady rain overnight. Afternoon 
showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening has the potential to exaccerbate
the ongoing threat.

.UPDATE...
Today proved to be somewhat of a transition day as the surface
trough to the north finally moves west and releases control over
the area. Abundant tropical moisture was still available, but gone
were the overcast skies that have shielded the area from surface
heating. This allowed for a much better defined sea breeze
circulation than what has been observed in recent days, and
provide some surface based instability that allowed a band of
potent thunderstorms along the sea breeze collision during the
late afternoon, generally along and just east of Interstate 75.

The lingering showers and storms from this sea breeze collision
should taper off over the next hour or two, and the showers over
the offshore coastal waters should also gradually dissipate
through the overnight period.

For the evening update, the biggest changes were made to the rain
chances for the next several hours to keep up with radar trends.
Otherwise, the forecast looks on track for a more typical summer
pattern returning on Thursday.

.AVIATION...
A band of thunderstorms lined up along the sea breeze boundary
collision, generally along and east of Interstate 75 will
gradually dissipate over the next couple of hours. MVFR and
occasional IFR conditions will continue to be possible near the
storms through around 03Z, then VFR conditions should retake
control through the rest of the evening. Scattered storms will
develop again over the Florida Peninsula beginning around 17-18Z
Thursday.

.MARINE...
A ridge of high pressure centered over the Atlantic will stretch
across Florida and into the eastern Gulf of Mexico and will hold
through the upcoming weekend. Thunderstorms will be possible each
day, mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours. Outside
of thunderstorm activity, winds and seas will remain near or below
15 knots/3 feet.
