.Near Term [Through Tonight]...

The main round of rain has almost cleared the area with showers
left in Dixie county and the offshore waters. There a few showers
moving in from the west, but do not expect theses to become
widespread. Bumped PoPs down a bit to reflect these trends. Lows
tonight will range from low 60s in southeast Alabama to upper 60s
in the Big Bend.

.Prev Discussion [732 PM EDT]...

.Short Term [Monday Through Tuesday Night]...

The synoptic pattern will quickly evolve to broad zonal flow over
the Southeast on Monday with high pressure settling into the
eastern CONUS. There is not a significant push of cold air behind
the rain that will exit the area tonight, and models generally
keep 850mb temperatures fairly similar to what they were this
weekend. Without any cloud cover or rain to hinder heating, we
should instead see warmer conditions on Monday and Tuesday with
highs around 80 degrees. Lows on Monday Night and Tuesday Night
should be in the 50s for the most part.

.Long Term [Wednesday Through Sunday]...

The extended range begins with deep-layer ridging across the
eastern CONUS. The ridge will move east on Thursday as a
shortwave moves through the Central Plains and Mississippi Valley,
yielding diffluent southwesterly flow aloft across the Southeast
where the northern and southern stream split. Though the surface
front will be just entering the Southeast late Thursday, unsettled
weather should be expected resultant from the synoptic regime.
Plenty of instability, decent mid-level lapse rates, and modest
deep layer shear will allow for the possibility for some isolated
severe storms as well. Thursday night or Friday, the front will
move through the Tri-State region and with similar environment to
Thursday, now with a stronger surface focus, the potential for
severe weather may increase a bit. After Friday, there's some
uncertainty as to how quickly the unsettled weather clears out of
the region. At this time, the forecast favors a drier solution
heading into next weekend.

.Aviation...
[Through 00Z Monday]... IFR conditions will continue through the
night. The main batch of rain is coming to an end and should clear
VLD in the next few hours. Ceilings will improve to VFR by 18Z.

.Marine...

Chaotic and variable winds are likely to continue late this
afternoon and tonight, mostly around 10-15 knots. Winds and seas
will be higher near any thunderstorms. After that, a relative lull
is expected with lighter winds through Tuesday Night. An
approaching low pressure system will cause winds to gradually ramp
up during the latter half of the week, with wind conditions likely
warranting at least a SCEC headline.

.Fire Weather...

There will be a break from the rain Monday through Wednesday
before the next system arrives. RH values will stay above
critical thresholds.

Withlacoochee Rivers are forecast to rise steadily over the next
few days. At this time the Choctawhatchee River at Bruce, the
Apalachicola River at Blountstown and the Chipola River at Altha
are forecast to go into flood stage. The Choctawhatchee River near
Bruce is forecast to go into minor flood stage tonight and
moderate flood stage Tuesday morning.

Rainfall estimates indicate that 6 to 7 inches of rain has fallen
in the Florida Panhandle over the past few days. 2 to 5 inches
have fallen in Southwest Georgia and Southeast Alabama. 1 to 5
inches have fallen in the Florida Big Bend region with the higher
totals near and west of Tallahassee. Another 1 to 2 inches are
likely before the rain moves out of the region around midnight.
The Flash Flood Watch has been cancelled. Ponding on roadways will
continue but flash flooding is not expected.
