HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN FRANCISCO CA 239 AM PST SUN JAN 31 2016 CAZ006-505-507>509-512-517-529-530-011200- SAN FRANCISCO- COASTAL NORTH BAY...INCLUDING POINT REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE- NORTH BAY MOUNTAINS-SAN FRANCISCO BAY SHORELINE- SAN FRANCISCO PENINSULA COAST-SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS- SANTA LUCIA MOUNTAINS AND LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST- NORTHERN MONTEREY BAY-SOUTHERN MONTEREY BAY AND BIG SUR COAST- 239 AM PST SUN JAN 31 2016 THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR COASTAL PORTIONS OF THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND MONTEREY BAY AREA...AS WELL AS THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS. .DAY ONE...SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP BY LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON ALONG THE COAST AND IN THE COASTAL HILLS. BY LATE AFTERNOON NORTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG WITH WIND GUSTS OF BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH LATE EVENING BEFORE GRADUALLY DIMINISHING AFTER MIDNIGHT. A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL COASTAL ZONES AS WELL AS COASTAL MOUNTAIN ZONES FROM 4 PM PST SUNDAY UNTIL 4 AM PST MONDAY. * WIND ADVISORY......SEE SFONPWMTR WWUS76 KMTR FOR DETAILS * IN ADDITION...PERIODS OF RAIN WILL OCCUR ACROSS AREAS FROM MONTEREY BAY SOUTHWARD TODAY. MOST RAIN WILL FALL DURING THE MORNING WITH RAIN TAPERING OFF IN THE AFTERNOON. RAINFALL WILL BE HEAVIEST ACROSS MONTEREY AND SAN BENITO COUNTIES...ESPECIALLY IN THE BIG SUR AREA AND SANTA LUCIA MOUNTAINS.
