PEARL RIVER...SO HAVE ONLY KEPT THE DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT

AND A BROAD INVERSION EXTENDS UP TO ABOUT 750 MB. WINDS ARE
WESTERLY THROUGH THE PROFILE WITH PEAK WIND OF 70 KTS NEAR 150 MB.

RADIATION FOG DOING ITS BEST TO DEVELOP THIS MORNING. THESE
CONDITIONS ARE PRIME FOR EXTREME VISIBILITY REDUCTION WHERE FIRES
ARE BURNING. THE LOW LEVEL CAP(INVERSION) IS WITHIN 100 FT OF THE
SFC AND WILL ACT TO KEEP ALL SMOKE PARTICLES WITHIN THE BOUNDARY
LAYER. THIS PROCESS CAUSES THE SMOKE TO BECOME CONCENTRATED MAKING
FOR SOME VERY DENSE SMOKEY FOG. IF THIS MOVES OVER ANY
ROADWAYS...TRAVEL CAN BECOME VERY DANGEROUS RAPIDLY AS VIS BECOMES
SEVERELY RESTRICTED WITHIN A VERY SHORT DISTANCE.
OTHERWISE...SPRING LIKE CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN THROUGH THE WEEKEND
INTO THE START OF THE NEXT WORK WEEK.

THEN THE PROBLEMS START. WE SHOULD FIRST SEE A LARGE AREA OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS BREAK OUT OVER SOUTHERN TEXAS TUESDAY NIGHT
AND MOVE TO THE TX COASTAL BEND WED MORNING. THIS LINE OF
THUNDERSTORMS WILL WEAKEN AS THEY MOVE TOWARD WESTERN LA AND AWAY
FROM THEIR SOURCE AREA. BUT THE DEEP MOISTURE AND UNIFORMITY IN
VERTICAL WIND DIRECTION WITH SPEED SHEAR WILL REMAIN AS STRONG
DYNAMIC FORCING. THIS WILL CAUSE THE ENTIRE DEEPLY MOIST
ENVIRONMENT TO BE LIFTED CREATING A VERY EFFICIENT RAINFALL
PROCESS. THIS AFFECTS WESTERN LA WEDNESDAY...WHILE THE REMAINS OF
THIS LINE MOVE INTO OUR AREA THAT AFTERNOON AND STALLS NEAR BATON
ROUGE. THIS SHOULD HELP CAUSE AREAS OF GROUND SATURATION AHEAD OF THE
NEXT STRONG IMPULSE THAT GENERATES A WHOLE NEW CONVECTIVE AREA
THAT WILL MOVE UP ALONG THIS STALLED BOUNDARY FROM THE COAST LATE
WED NIGHT AND ALL DAY THURSDAY.
THE SAME DYNAMIC SUPPORT THAT GETS THIS MESS GOING WILL
MOVE SLOWLY OVER THE AREA THURSDAY CAUSING THUNDERSTORMS TO BECOME
A LITTLE MORE AGGRESSIVE...ALONG WITH WHAT SHOULD BECOME OUR
HIGHEST RAIN TALLIES DURING THE EVENT. AS THE LOW LIFTS NORTH AND
THEN NW AND OCCLUDES...THIS LINE WILL FINALLY GET A NEW SHOVE BY
LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE LINE THEN MOVES THROUGH THE REMAINDER
OF THE AREA EXITING THE MISSISSIPPI COAST BY NOON FRIDAY. THE
STRONGLY DIFLUENT FLOW ALOFT CAUSED BY THE LOW AND EXITING UPPER
JET WILL REMAIN CO-LOCATED WITH THE LINE AS IT MOVES THROUGH
GIVING THE ENTIRE AREA AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AT RECEIVING STRONG TO
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAINFALL. ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST
AMOUNTS LOOK TO BE MAINLY OVER THE AREA WHERE THE FRONT/BOUNDARY
STALLS NEAR BATON ROUGE. BUT ALL VARIABLES INCLUDING LOCATION AND
EXTENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL NEED TO BE FURTHER REFINED
AS WE APPROACH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
MAY BEGIN TO COORDINATE FLASH FLOOD WATCH AS EARLY AS MONDAY FOR
OUR AREA. OBVIOUSLY WE SHOULD ALREADY SEE FLOOD WATCHES PLACED TO
