* Impact...At stages near 7.0 feet...Buildings at the foot of Ann 
  Street on the river side of the flood wall will flood as water 
  overtops the Rio Oil Company dock. Buildings on the river side of 
  the Berwick floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will 
  be strictly enforced.
* Impact...At stages near 6.0 feet...Flood stage. The city dock will
  be under water. Water will cover the lower end of Belleview Front 
  Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger 
  river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly 
  enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard.
* Impact...At stages near 5.0 feet...Floodwall gates will be closed 
  to protect against higher stages. Vessel traffic will be affected 
  by stronger river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be 
  strictly enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard.

  up the bank and across access roads below the city dock. Floodwall

  Monday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact...At stages near 25.0 feet...Lowest roads beside the river 
  flood around Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition, 
  low-lying roads in Southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded 
  including Robert Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of 
  Niblett Bluff Park with access roads to camp houses cut off around 
  the park. Access roads to the river in Northeastern Orange County 
  become flooded.

  occur.

DISCUSSION...A VERY PLEASANT WINTER-TIME AFTERNOON ONGOING
ACROSS THE REGION AFTER A RATHER CHILLY START. TEMPS HAVE WARMED
WELL INTO THE 60S UNDER SUNNY SKIES. SATELLITE DEPICTING NO MORE
THAN SOME WISPY CIRRUS OVERHEAD.

CLOUDS WILL BE ROLLING IN LATER TONIGHT AS OUR NEXT MID/UPPER
DISTURBANCE ADVANCES FROM OLD MEXICO INTO TEXAS WHILE SURFACE LOW
PRESSURE/TROF ADVANCES NORTH FROM THE BAY OF CAMPECHE INTO THE
NORTHWEST GULF. FEATURE PROGGED TO TAKE AN EAST TO NORTHEAST TURN
THROUGH THE DAY THURSDAY REMAINING OFFSHORE OF THE NORTHERN GULF
WHILE GRADUALLY STRENGTHENING. LOW WILL BRING A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS
AREA-WIDE...WITH THE BEST CHANCE OVER ACADIANA...THEN TRENDING
DOWNWARD TOWARD THE LAKES REGION OF INTERIOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

A COLD FRONT THEN SETTLES INTO THE REGION FRIDAY AND STALLS. GFS
SUGGESTING STRONG CYCLOGENESIS ALONG BOUNDARY OVER TEXAS ON
SATURDAY WITH A RAPID EASTWARD PROGRESSION OF LOW. ECMWF NOT SO
INCLINED TO THIS LOW LEVEL GENESIS THUS YIELDING LOWER POPS AND
PRECIP FIELDS. SUPERBLEND IS A GOOD COMPROMISE OF THE TWO.

START THE FIRST HALF OF THE NEW WEEK GENERALLY DRY WITH VERY
LIMITED CHANCES FOR RAINS WITH A DRY WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT AND A
COOL AND DRY NORTHERLY FLOW WITHIN THE LOW LEVELS. A GRADUAL
WARMING IS EXPECTED WITH MOISTENING AND WARMING SOUTHERLIES
RETURNING MID-WEEK ALONG WITH A CHANCE OF RAINS.

MARINE...HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE SOUTHEAST CONUS WILL
MAINTAIN A LIGHT TO MODERATE EASTERLY FLOW OVER THE NEAR COASTAL
WATERS INTO THURSDAY. A WEAK SURFACE LOW WILL ADVANCE NORTH FROM
THE BAY OF CAMPECHE INTO THE WESTERN GULF TONIGHT AND EARLY
THURSDAY...THEN TRACK RAPIDLY EAST TO NORTHEAST THURSDAY NIGHT AND
FRIDAY ACROSS THE NORTHERN GULF. THIS FEATURE WILL BRING A BRIEF
INCREASE IN WINDS AND SEAS...AS WELL AS INCREASED RAIN CHANCES
WITH ITS PASSAGE. A COLD FRONT WILL THEN ADVANCE INTO THE REGION
FRIDAY AND STALL...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR A MORE ROBUST LOW
DEVELOPING AND MOVING EASTWARD ALONG THE BOUNDARY SATURDAY. THIS
FEATURE WILL BRING ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AS WELL AS A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS TO THE AREA...ALONG WITH STRENGTHENING WINDS AND
BUILDING SEAS.
