flooding will continue to be a concern along the East Fork White,
Muscatatuck, Wabash and White Rivers over the next few days.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river

* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Monday morning and 
  continue to rise to near 20.7 feet by Tuesday early afternoon.  The
  river will fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on 
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22 
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

.Recent periods of precipitation along with forecast precipitation
over the next 24 to 36 hours will result in flooding across
central... western... and southern Indiana. Flooding will remain a
concern in those areas into the weekend.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  Lawrenceport Road.  All local roads across the East Fork of the 
  White River are threatened by high water, and some are closed.

REMAIN ABOVE AVERAGE...BUT WITH A COOLING TREND NEXT WEEK.

BASED ON THE LATEST OBSERVATIONS AND SHORTER TERM MODELS...THE

A FEW SHOWERS ARE ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST FORECAST AREA EARLY THIS

THE AREA.

THIS WEAK LIFT WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING...WITH THE SHOWERS
GRADUALLY GETTING FARTHER NORTH AS THE ATMOSPHERE STARTS TO MOISTEN
UP. LATEST RUNS OF THE HI RES SHORT TERM MODEL DATA ARE PRETTY
AGGRESSIVE WITH RAIN COVERAGE. HOWEVER...THERE IS SOME UNCERTAINTY
ON HOW FAST LOWER ATMOSPHERE WILL ACTUALLY MOISTEN UP.

FOR NOW WILL GRADUALLY BRING POPS NORTH DURING THE MORNING...WITH

EXIST...SO CONTINUED CATEGORICAL POPS.  DID LOWER THE POPS SOME
