...The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for portions of the following rivers in central and southern
Indiana...
East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...White River...
.Flooding is expected to return to portions of the East Fork
White, Musctatatuck, and White Rivers by this weekend. Liquid
precipitation approaching two inches is expected to fall beginning
Tuesday evening and continuing on Wednesday. Rain will be slow to
change to snow across southern portions of central Indiana allowing
more runoff to end up in the river system than areas further north.
Significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect
some local and state roads...low agricultural land and some river
parks.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

* At 11:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 14.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Saturday evening and continue
to rise to near 21.1 feet by early Monday morning. The river will
fall below flood stage by Tuesday evening.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on
the south side of river begins to flood around this level. By 22
feet this road is impassable. During typical floods in this
area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
feet of water. During the January 2005 flood...this area would
have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17
feet. In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water
would have covered this location.

higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in Pottsville
river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C Street on river side of
railroad tracks and Catt Street near U. S. Highway 41 are flooded.
Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of submerged
Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates must be
installed at Hazleton.

Rains of 1 to possibly 2 inches fell since Tuesday evening along and
east of the I-69 corridor.
At this time...flooding is not expected to be as extensive as levels
experienced in late December and early January.

.Lowland flooding is developing in central and southern Indiana,
chiefly near and east of I-69 northeast of Indianapolis and south of
I-70 southwest of Indianapolis. Significant flooding is not
expected. Flooding will affect some local and state roads...low
agricultural land and some river parks.
Rain and liquid equivalent of mainly 1.4 inches to around 2 inches
fell between 9 PM Tuesday and 9 PM Wednesday. Precipitation is
diminishing and is generally expected to continue diminishing
through Thursday morning and mainly fall as snow.
At this time...flooding is not expected to be as extensive as levels
experienced in late December and early January.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Be alert to flood debris on previously flooded roads. Keep children
away from flooded areas. Recreational and agricultural interests
should remain alert to changing river conditions.

Rain and melted precipitation since late Tuesday ranged from around
one-half inch in west central Indiana to more than two inches in

.Lowland flooding continued Friday afternoon mainly in southern
Indiana. At this time..flood crests are not expected to exceed those
seen in late December and early January. Flooding will last from 1
to more than 7 days. Flooding affected some local and state
roads...low agricultural land and some river parks.
Rain and melted precipitation since late Tuesday ranged from around
one-half inch in west central Indiana to more than two inches in
portions of southern Indiana. Little precipitation is expected
through the weekend.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go

.Lowland flooding continued Saturday morning mainly in southern
Indiana. At this time..flood crests are not expected to exceed those
seen in late December and early January. Flooding will last from 1
to more than 7 days. Flooding affected some local and state
roads...low agricultural land and some river parks.
Rain and melted precipitation since late Tuesday ranged from around
one-half inch in west central Indiana to more than two inches in
portions of southern Indiana. Little precipitation is expected
through the weekend.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
