501, Highway 905 and Highway 90. Water levels one foot deep will surround
approximately 20 homes in the Savannah Bluff area. Flood waters will also
surround homes in the Lees Landing, Pitch Landing and Riverfront South
communities. Flooding will occur near a few homes on Oak Street as well as at
Punch Bowl and Pitch Landing.

WEST THROUGH SATURDAY. DRY AND COOL CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST
THROUGH SATURDAY. HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE OVERHEAD SATURDAY NIGHT
THEN OFF THE COAST EARLY NEXT WEEK. SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES WILL
RETURN ON SUNDAY THEN CLIMB ABOVE NORMAL MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH FROM THE NORTHWEST TUESDAY...BUT STALL

FURTHER AS IT MOVES ACROSS FAR EASTERN CANADA THROUGH TONIGHT. A
MID-LEVEL SHORTWAVE WILL SWING TO OUR NE EARLY THIS MORNING. THE
500 MB TROUGH WILL SWING ACROSS THE EASTERN CAROLINAS EARLY FRI
MORNING. CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE PLAINS WILL BE SLOWLY
EXPANDING TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST STATES LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.
THE FORECAST AREA WILL REMAIN IN THE STRONG CYCLONIC GRIP OF THE
LARGE AND POWERFUL LOW ACROSS EASTERN CANADA. THIS WILL KEEP THE
PRESSURE GRADIENT TIGHT. CURRENTLY WINDS IN THE MIXED LAYER ARE NEAR
35 KT WITH KLTX SHOWING 40 TO 45 KT AT 3-4 KFT. THE MODEL SOUNDINGS
ARE SHOWING 35 KT IN THE MIXED LAYER THIS MORNING...HANGING ON
LONGEST AT THE COAST. THIS MAY BE SLIGHTLY UNDERDONE GIVEN THE
LOCAL VWP. GIVEN ONLY A VERY SLOW RELAXATION OF THE PRESSURE
GRADIENT AND WITH DEEPER MIXING OF THE DRY AIR AFTER SUNRISE...
EXPECT WIND GUSTS UP TO AROUND 40 MPH...STRONGEST THIS MORNING
THROUGH MIDDAY AND INTO EARLY AFTERNOON FOR PORTIONS OF THE
IMMEDIATE COAST. THEREFORE...WILL EXTEND THE WIND ADVISORY INTO
THE EARLY AFTERNOON. A GOOD PORTION OF THE FORECAST AREA DID
RECEIVE SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL ON WED. THIS COUPLED WITH THE
PERSISTENT STRONG WINDS MAY HELP TO TOPPLE SOME WEAK TREES AND
BRING DOWN SOME TREE LIMBS. WE ASK THAT PEOPLE BE MINDFUL OF THE
STRONG GRADIENT WINDS TODAY AND THE VERY REAL DANGER THEY POSE.
SOMEONE DID LOSE THEIR LIFE IN DARLINGTON COUNTY ON WED WHEN A
PORTION OF A TREE FELL ON THEM. THIS LOSE OF LIFE WAS NOT RELATED
TO THUNDERSTORMS.

BROAD 5H TROUGHING IS LEFT IN THE WAKE OF THE EXITING 5H SHORTWAVE
FRI MORNING. THIS TROUGH WILL LINGER OVER THE REGION THROUGH THE
PERIOD WITH A SECOND WEAKER SHORTWAVE MOVING ACROSS THE AREA SAT.
THIS FEATURE DOES NOT GENERATE ANY PRECIP...OR EVEN NOTABLE CLOUD
COVER BUT IT WILL BRING A REINFORCING SHOT OF COLD AIR. SURFACE HIGH
