UPDATED AVIATION PORTION FOR 00Z TAF ISSUANCE

.SHORT TERM...TONIGHT AND FRIDAY
ISSUED AT 336 PM CDT THU MAR 17 2016

A COLD FRONT ACROSS NORTHERN WISCONSIN WILL PUSH SOUTHWARD AS AN
EAST-WEST MID LEVEL TROUGH IN SOUTHERN WISCONSIN CONTINUES TO MOVE
SOUTH.

SNOW IS POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN WISCONSIN...BUT THERE SHOULD BE
LITTLE OR NO ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION. ACROSS CENTRAL AND EAST
CENTRAL WISCONSIN RAIN SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE EARLY...CHANGING TO
SNOW SHOWERS LATER IN THE NIGHT. DRYER AIR MOVING INTO THE STATE
SHOULD BRING AN END TO ANY PRECIPITATION BY FRIDAY MORNING.

EXPECT COOLER TEMPERATURES ON FRIDAY NORTH OF THE FRONT.

.LONG TERM...FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY
ISSUED AT 336 PM CDT THU MAR 17 2016

CLOSED UPPER LOW IS FORECAST TO MOVE SLOWLY FROM IOWA FRIDAY NIGHT
TO NORTHERN INDIANA SUNDAY. THE SYSTEM SHOULD STAY FAR ENOUGH SOUTH
TO KEEP DRY WEATHER OVER NORTHERN AND CENTRAL WISCONSIN...EXCEPT
FOR POSSIBLY A FEW SNOW SHOWERS IN THE FAR NORTH SUNDAY. QUIET
WEATHER EXPECTED SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY. TEMPERATURES FRIDAY
NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY SHOULD BE AROUND 5 DEGREES BELOW USUAL FOR
THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.

AN UPPER SYSTEM MOVING FROM THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PLAINS
TOWARDS WISCONSIN SHOULD BRING SOME LIGHT SNOW MONDAY NIGHT AND
EARLY TUESDAY AND A MIX OF SNOW AND RAIN TUESDAY. THE GFS IS MUCH
STRONGER WITH THE SYSTEM THAN THE ECMWF AND WOULD PRODUCE
CONSIDERABLE SNOW. NOT SURE WHICH IS CORRECT AT THIS POINT.
TEMPERATURES DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK SHOULD BE FAIRLY CLOSE
TO NORMAL.

A SURFACE LOW MOVING FROM THE SOUTHERN PLAINS TOWARDS CHICAGO SHOULD
BRING SOME PRECIPITATION TO THE FORECAST AREA WEDNESDAY NIGHT. A MIX
OF RAIN AND SNOW APPEARS REASONABLE WITH FORECAST 850MB TEMPERATURES.
A STRONGER SYSTEM WITH MORE MOISTURE AND COLDER TEMPERATURES COULD
BRING SIGNIFICANT SNOW TO PART OF THE AREA FRIDAY NIGHT.
