  Oconee River near Oconee affecting Johnson...Washington and 
  Wilkinson Counties


.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

* From late tonight until Thursday afternoon.
* At 1030 AM Wednesday the stage was 6 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage after midnight and 
  continue to rise to near 13.7 feet by Thursday morning. The river 
  will fall below flood stage by noon on Thursday.
* At 13 feet...Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding will occur in
  portions of the woodlands and fields near the river upstream and

  The Yellow River near Conyers below Milstead.
* From Thursday evening until late Thursday night.
* At 1030 AM Wednesday the stage was 3.5 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Thursday evening and continue
  to rise to near 11.1 feet by Thursday evening. The river will fall 
  below flood stage by Thursday night.
* At 11 feet...Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding begins in the
  woodlands...fields and pasture along the river  upstream and 
  downstream from the gage on Gees Mill Road in Rockdale County. 
  Portions of Sockwell Road by the river in Newton County will be 
  around two feet under water.

* Flood Warning for 
  The Ocmulgee River near Macon.
* From Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.
* At 1030 AM Wednesday the stage was 12 feet...and steady.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Friday afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 19.3 feet by Saturday morning. The river 
  will fall below flood stage by Sunday morning.
* At 19 feet...Minor flooding continues. The Macon Greenway 
  Ocmulgee Heritage Trail will begin to flood in areas just north of 
  the Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The public should not use 
  this portion of the trail. In addition...the lowest sections of the
  Charles Jones Gateway Park will flood. Portions of agricultural 
  lands well downstream will be under two feet of water.

  continue to rise to near 14.4 feet by Friday afternoon.The 
  river will fall below flood stage by Friday before midnight.
* At 15 feet...Minor flooding continues to expand into fields...
  woodlands and pastures...mainly on the right bank of the river...
  upstream and downstream from the gage on the Georgia Highway 15

  continue to rise to near 18 feet by Sunday early afternoon.
* At 18 feet...The water level begins to flood portions of the dirt
  parking lot area near the Old Balls Ferry Road boat ramp...just 
  upstream and rightbank from the Georgia Highway 57 bridge. Minor
