PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interests along the river should monitor 
the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary 
precautions to protect life and property. 

River stage forecasts are based on observed rainfall along with 
predicted rain for the next 12 hours. If actual rainfall varies 
from forecast values, forecast river stages will vary. 

Do not drive automobiles through flooded areas. Remember, 18 inches 
of water or less can carry away most vehicles, including trucks. 

If you see flood waters or come upon a flooded roadway, remember 
to turn around and do not drown.

 The flood warning continues for the Salado Creek At At Loop 13.
* At  8:15 PM Monday the stage was 20.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river level crested Monday evening and will be falling through
  the night. It is expected to fall below flood stage during the early morning
  hours on Tuesday.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...Major lowland flooding reaches the Loop 13 bridge 
  floor and the lower half of the KOA campground upstream requiring visitors to 
  evacuate the lower half immediately as park officials direct. Secondary roads,
  low bridges and access roads are flooded and very dangerous to motorists..

* At  8:30 PM Monday the stage was 43.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river level crested mid Monday afternoon. It will continue falling
  and is expected to fall below flood stage by early afternoon on Tuesday.
* Impact...At 43.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding inundates and damages crop 
  and pastureland below San Antonio to below Floresville. Numerous roads and 
  bridges are flooded. Oil well pump jacks and irrigation pumps are flooded and 
  damaged..

* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river level will rise above flood stage by late Tuesday morning
  and will continue to rise to near 29.7 feet by Tuesday evening. The river level
  is then expected to fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.

* At  8:15 PM Monday the stage was 1.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river level will begin rising late Monday evening and will rise
  to crest around 10.3 feet early Wednesday afternoon. This is below the flood stage
  of 12 feet.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...Overbank conditions extend into low areas of the flood
  plain with no significant damage..

* At  8:15 PM Monday the stage was 11.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river level will begin rising by early Tuesday morning and will
  continue to rise to crest around 29.1 feet by Thursday morning. The river level
  is then expected to fall below flood stage by Thursday evening.
* Impact...At 31.0 feet...Flooding spreads across the wide flood plain upstream 
  and downstream. No structures are threatened. Livestock and farm equipemnt 
  will need to removed from the floodplain..

.SHORT TERM (Tonight through Tuesday Night)...
At 2 PM the cold front was located just north of Eagle Pass to
just south of a San Antonio and La Grange. As expected isentropic
ascent has weakened behind the front. Deeper convection through
the afternoon and early evening will be confined along and ahead
of the cold front across the southern CWA, where low level forcing
and instability is maximized. Some localized heavy downpours may
occur with these storms, but flash flood guidance is much higher
in this region. This activity should shift south into the CRP CWA
this evening with the front, with just a few elevated showers
possible tonight behind the front across the EWX CWA.

Cloud cover lingers through much of the day on Tuesday with
clearing eventually taking place Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s on Tuesday.

.LONG TERM (Wednesday through Monday)...
Warming Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s, as ridging aloft
builds overhead. A dry cold front is forecast to move through the
area on Thursday. Dry air behind the front will send dew points
down into the upper 40s and 50s, resulting in cool mornings Friday
into the first half of the weekend. Lows in the 50s to low 60s and
highs in the upper 70s to low 80s are forecast Friday and Saturday.
Return flow become established Sunday with modifying dew points
and warming temps Sunday into Monday.
