Temperatures will warm significantly across southeast Wyoming Thursday through 
Sunday.  Mountain snowmelt will accelerate causing increasing flows into the
Upper North Platte.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flooded areas. Move to higher ground. The water 
may be deep enough to float you and your vehicle. Turn around, don't 
drown.

  inundates yards of homes along the river in town.  Flood waters 
  begin impacting access to Veterans Island Park. The golf course

Relatively quiet weather expected for the remainder of the week
compared to recently with a nice warming trend expected to begin
today. Patchy fog is still present across portions of southeast
Wyoming and western Nebraska...mainly along and just east of the
southern Laramie Range and across west central Nebraska. Do not
anticipate another Fog Advisory for this morning as fog has only
been briefly dense over the I80 summit thus far. Any fog and low
stratus will lift by mid to late morning allowing mostly clear
skies today. Temperatures will rise into the 60s across most of
the forecast area to near 70 over the lower elevations of western
Nebraska. Widely Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are
possible in and around the mountains...including the I25 corridor.
Activity will generally be weak and move northwest to southeast
through the evening.

Models show the warming trend continuing Thursday and Friday as an
upper level ridge axis moves eastward over Colorado and Wyoming.
Highs in the mid 60s to mid 70s are expected across most of the
region with readings around 80 on Friday northeast of a Douglas to
Sidney Nebraska line. The best chance for shower and thunderstorms
will be on Thursday as a weak disturbance aloft moves across
southeast Wyoming. Increased POP between 30 to 50 percent across
southeast Wyoming...although some of this activity will eventually
make it into western Nebraska in the evening. Thunderstorm chances
are less on Friday as midlevel subsidence increases as the ridge
axis moves into the area.

.LONG TERM...(Friday night through Tuesday)

The upper pattern generally will feature troughing over the
western CONUS with ridging over the plains for this period.
Southwesterly flow aloft will prevail over the CWA overall
through the period. This pattern will be a decent setup for
mainly afternoon and evening showers and tstms most days as
weak upper impulses ride northeast across the area and interact
with instability. strongest storms look to be over the Nebraska
Panhandle Saturday. Better instability currently progged to
move east of the CWA for Sunday but will have to be watched.
Warm temperatures expected Saturday then a pacific front should
move by early Sunday bringing cooler temps for Sunday and
Monday...continued mild for Tuesday.

For the North Platte River, the latest forecast for Mitchell
Nebraska indicates a crest near 9.5 feet late this week and this
weekend. Minor to moderate flooding will continue near Henry and
Minatare Nebraska this week. Moderate flooding will also continue
at Fort Laramie, with the river holding steady near 8.2 feet.
Finally, the Laramie River at Laramie is forecast to rise to
around 8.9 feet late Wednesday.

In addition, will have to closely monitor snowmelt runoff late this
week and this weekend as temperatures increase. Additional rises in
streams and river levels are likely.

WEEK AND WEEKEND MAY PRODUCE RAPID MOUNTAIN SNOW MELT...CAUSING
ADDITIONAL WATER RISES ON STREAMS AND RIVERS. CAMPERS AND OUTDOOR
RECREATIONISTS TO THE MOUNTAINS THIS WEEKEND NEED TO BE WATCHING
AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS FOR RAPID RISES.
