Warning for the following river in Texas...
Nueces River Near Tilden affecting McMullen County
.Recent or anticipated heavy rainfall over the aforementioned
river basins will result in river rises above flood stage
during the next few days.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
All persons with interests along the river should monitor
the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary
precautions to protect life and property. River stage forecasts
are based on observed and predicted rainfall. If actual
rainfall varies from forecast values, forecast river stages
will vary accordingly.

is cancelled.
* At 8:30 AM Monday the stage was 13.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to
rise to near 14.1 feet by tonight. The river will fall below flood
stage by Wednesday morning.
* At 14.0 feet Minor lowland flooding occurs, and causes sloughs and
peripheral channels near the main stream to cut off areas of the
flood plain, isolating livestock and damaging equipment in low areas.
Oil field tank batteries and pump jacks flood.

Patchy fog this morning will mainly affect VCT and to a lesser extent, ALI and possibly CRP. Brief MVFR conditions this morning will improve to VFR levels through the remainder of the day and into the first part of tonight. By late tonight into early Tue morning, patchy fog will lead to brief MVFR, possibly IFR, conditions. Winds will generally be light and variable this morning, then becoming east and southeast through late afternoon/evening. && .PREVIOUS DISCUSSION... /Issued 344 AM CDT MON OCT 3 2016/ SHORT TERM (Today through Tuesday)... An upper level short wave tracking SE across the NW Gulf of Mexico, will continue to track farther SE today, however a weak sfc coastal trough will continue to provide low level moisture convergence across the middle TX Coastal Waters. Therefore will continue with a slight chc of -shra's over the coastal waters today and into tonight. Based on radar trends as well as models progging the low level convergence to be along the coast and slightly inland, have gone with a 20 pop along the coast as well. On Tue, models show an increase in instability but a slight decrease in PWATs. With better instability, kept the slight chc over the waters but also included the VCT Crossroads due to a more SE flow. Did not go any higher than 20 percent due to the moisture being limited and the high pressure aloft being a dominant feature. Temps will continue a gradual increase through Tue. Overnight clouds/patchy fog will be a possibility once again tonight. LONG TERM (Tuesday Night through Saturday)... The mid-level pattern begins with a closed low moving into the northern plains helping to send a weak trough towards our region later in the period. A second and somewhat stronger, re-inforcing, trough helps to send a cold front towards the region late in the week. Relatively dry airmass, PWATs slightly less than the 1.5" normal, modifies ahead of the slow moving cold front Wednesday onward. This will help to bring some isolated shower activity back into the region through Friday. Once the front pushes through we will clean out the airmass and drop temperatures back towards the normal range.
