AT 304 PM PDT...DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING STRONG THUNDERSTORMS FROM
BRIDGEPORT TO MAMMOTH LAKES...AND MOVING NORTH AT 15 TO 20 MPH.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN AND DEADLY WERE OCCURRING OVER
EASTERN MONO COUNTY. THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF CREATING
SIGNIFICANT PONDING OF WATER ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL AS GREATLY
REDUCED VISIBILITY. THIS INCLUDES HIGHWAY 395.

MOTORISTS SHOULD PREPARE TO SLOW DOWN AND TURN ON HEADLIGHTS DURING
HEAVY RAINFALL. ANYONE ON AREA LAKES OR OTHERWISE OUTDOORS SHOULD
SEEK SHELTER INSIDE AN AUTOMOBILE OR STURDY SHELTER. LIGHTNING IS
DEADLY!

AT 336 PM PDT...DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM
NEAR NEW PASS SUMMIT. THIS STORM WAS NEARLY STATIONARY PRODUCING
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN.

WINDS UP TO 50 MPH AND PONDING OF WATER ALONG HIGHWAY 50 WILL BE
POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.

THIS STORM WILL REMAIN OVER MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF EAST CENTRAL
CHURCHILL COUNTY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THIS STORM WILL AFFECT TRAVELERS ON HIGHWAY 50 EAST OF MIDDLEGATE TO
NEW PASS SUMMIT. DRIVERS SHOULD EXPECT STRONG GUSTY CROSS
WINDS...WITH RAPID VISIBILITY REDUCTIONS. HEAVY RAINFALL WILL RESULT
IN PONDING OF WATER. SLOW DOWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING HEAVY RAIN AND TURN
