Cheat River At Rowlesburg affecting Preston County
. A storm system sweeping a warm front through our region to the north,
brought a surge of warm, moist air into the region as well as moderate to
heavy rainfall. The combination of warm air aiding snow-melt and the
rainfall with 24 hour totals up to 2.10 inches, is causing significant
rises on on the Cheat and Monongahela Rivers.
These rises will be sufficient to bring the Cheat River to flood
stage at Rowlesburg later today. The Monongahela River will rise to flood
stage at Elizabeth and Charloi later tonight. Minor flooding is expected
at each location.
