RESULTING IN UNIMPRESSIVE LAPSE RATES BTWN 5.5-6.0C/KM THRU THE LYR.

THE ATLC RIDGE HAS BEEN WEAKENED CONSIDERABLY BY THE LOW THAT HAS
PERSISTED OFF THE E FL COAST FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS...AS WELL AS
DISTANT T.C. IDA. THE RESULTING LOW LVL PGRAD OVER THE BAHAMAS AND
THE GREATER ANTILLES IS QUITE FLAT WITH LITTLE DEFINITION OF EITHER
A TROFFING OR RIDGING FEATURES. FURTHERMORE...AN H85-H50 INVERTED
TROF JUST N OF THE WINDWARD PASSAGE WILL LIFT E OF THE BAHAMAS AND
PREVENT ANY DEEP LYR RIDGING FROM REBUILDING ACRS THE AREA.

ALOFT...AN H85-H50 INVERTED TROF EXTENDING FROM THE DEEP SOUTH TO
THE YUCATAN PENINSULA WILL MAINTAIN A 10-15KT S/SW FLOW THAT WILL

SCATTERED AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND LIGHTNING STORMS WILL DEVELOP
ACROSS EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA AS KEEP MOISTURE PUSHES INTO THE AREA
FROM THE BAHAMAS AND POOLS WITHIN A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH OVER THE
EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO. STORM COVERAGE WILL BE HIGHEST OVER THE
INTERIOR WHERE THE EAST AND WEST COAST SEA BREEZES ARE EXPECTED TO
MERGE. CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL BE THE PRIMARY
THREAT...THOUGH SOME OF THE STRONGER STORMS MAY PRODUCE WIND
GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH AND LOCAL HEAVY RAIN.

.FLOOD IMPACT...
LOCAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORM MOVE WEST ACROSS THE AREA. SOME WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING A BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCH OF RAIN IN A SHORT PERIOD OF
TIME. AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED RECENT HEAVY RAIN SUCH AS PORTIONS
OF THE TREASURE COAST WILL BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLOODING FROM ANY
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL.

A LONG PERIOD EASTERLY SWELL WILL IMPACT THE EAST FLORIDA COAST
TODAY AND GENERATE A HIGH RIP CURRENT THREAT ALONG AREA BEACHES.
THE THREAT WILL BE HIGHEST BETWEEN 8:30 PM AND 3:30 PM DUE TO
TIDAL EFFECTS. CHECK WITH BEACH PATROL FOR LOCAL HAZARDS BEFORE
ENTERING THE WATER. ALWAYS SWIM WITHIN SIGHT OF A LIFE GUARD AND
NEVER SWIM ALONE.

.MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON
AND MOVE WEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH. A FEW STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS UP TO 40 MPH AS WELL AS FREQUENT CLOUD TO
WATER LIGHTNING...PARTICULARLY OVER THE INTERIOR LAKES.

.RIVER FLOOD IMPACT...
THE ST. JOHNS RIVER AT ASTOR HAS RISEN DURING THE DAY...AND HAS BEEN
FLUCTUATING BETWEEN 2.7 FEET...AND JUST BELOW THE FLOOD STAGE OF 2.8
FEET SINCE LATE AFTERNOON.  THE RIVER LEVEL RISE IS PARTLY DUE TO
NORTHERLY WIND COMPONENT IMPEDING DOWNSTREAM FLOW COUPLED WITH TIDAL
EFFECTS. THE RIVER IS FORECAST TO REMAIN AT ACTION STAGE...BETWEEN
2.5 FEET AND 2.7 FEET...FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
MOISTURE WILL INCREASE ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA INTO EARLY NEXT
