* from Monday March 23 until further notice.
* At 10 AM Thursday the stage was...34.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will rise to a crest of 41.0 feet on March 23.
* Flood stage is 41.0 feet.
At 41.0 feet, Casinos are open and unaffected. Tunica Cutoff Lake is
flooding camp lots and Riverside Drive in Lakeview Camp. In Arkansas,
road to farmstead inside the levee near the southeast corner of Lee
County is flooded. Water is against the toe of the Arkansas levee in
extreme Sothern Crittenden County in places and most all the way
around Midway Lake..

* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Sunday March 15 and continue
to rise to near 35.0 feet by Saturday March 21. Additional rises
are possible thereafter.
* At 35.0 feet...Grounds of the riverboat factory north of
Caruthersville, Missouri are flooding. Park on riverbamk at
Caruthersville is beginning to go under water. In Tennessee, Barr
Road is under two feet of water in places, and evacuations are very
difficult. Most unprotected farmland near the river and portions of
highway 104 in Western Dyer County are impacted.

* The river rose above flood stage Wednesday March 18 and will
continue rising to near 43.5 feet by Monday March 23 then begin
falling.
* At 44.0 feet...Casinos are open and unaffected. In Mississippi,
boat ramp at Charlie's Camp is flooded. Lots are beginning to go
under water at Charlie's Camp and Nel-Win Camp. Riverbend Road to

* The river rose above flood stage Wednesday March 18 and will
continue rising to near 43.5 feet by Tuesday March 24 then begin
falling.
* At 44.0 feet...Casinos are open and unaffected. In Mississippi,
boat ramp at Charlie's Camp is flooded. Lots are beginning to go
under water at Charlie's Camp and Nel-Win Camp. Riverbend Road to
bordeaux Point from Charlie's Camp is flooding. Northeast
evacuation road to house on the riverbank southwest of Mhoon
Landing is flooded at the lowest spot. In Arkansas, camp on west
side of Midway Lake is totally covered. Farmstead just south of
Arkansas County Road 533 is flooding.

Caruthersville, Missouri are flooding. Park on riverbamk at
Caruthersville is beginning to go under water. In Tennessee, Barr
Road is under two feet of water in places, and evacuations are very
difficult. Most unprotected farmland near the river and portions of
highway 104 in Western Dyer County are impacted.

* At 33.0 feet...In Tennessee, Barr Road in Chickasaw National Forest
is flooding, cutting off evacuations from the Wardlews Pocket Area.
In Arkansas, docks useed by the steele plant at Hickman are mostly
flooded. Numerous roads and fields inside the levee between Gayoso
and Kennedy, Missouri are covered.

* At 30.0 feet...In Tennessee, The Reach-Coker Slough hunting camp is
flooded. Crawford Road West just north of Fort Pillow historic area
is going under water. Houses are flooding along Cold Creek Road.
Four Mile Road is flooding, and Champion Lake Road is being flooded
by Hatchie River backwater. Sunk Lake Road is flooded north of Bee
Lake. In Arkansas, Highway 120 is flooded between O'Donnell Bend
and the levee, and barge loading has to stop at Osceola.

SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS
AND SHOULD INCREASE IN COVERAGE BY TONIGHT. WITH THE CLOUDS AND
EAST WINDS TEMPERATURES ARE NOT WARMING AS MUCH AS EXPECTED SO

ONGOING FLOOD CONDITIONS. A WIDESPREAD 1-2 INCHES OF PRECIP IS

CURRENTLY...A 1016 MB SURFACE LOW WAS ANALYZED IN THE NORTHWEST
GULF OF MEXICO MOVING SLOWLY NORTH THIS MORNING. A BAND OF SHOWERS
AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS DRIVEN LARGELY BY CONVERGENCE ALONG THE
NOSE OF AN 850 MB LOW LEVEL JET...WAS LOCATED NEAR THE ARKLATEX.
A FEW SHOWERS HAVE BEGUN TO DEVELOP FURTHER NORTH ACROSS SW AR/C
MS...AND THESE WILL WORK NORTH THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING. MOST
ACCUMULATING PRECIP WILL STAY SOUTH OF THE TN/MS STATE LINE
THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. THE SURFACE LOW WILL NOT MAKE MUCH
HEADWAY THROUGH THE DAY TODAY AS UPPER LEVEL JET ENERGY DOES NOT
EJECT UNTIL THURSDAY NIGHT. THAT BEING SAID...PERSISTENT SOUTHERLY
FLOW AT 850 MB WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD ABUNDANT MOISTURE NORTH
WITH PRECIP DEVELOPING FROM ISENTROPIC LIFT GENERALLY ALONG AND

AFTER 21Z THURSDAY...SO A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER ARE POSSIBLE

THURSDAY NIGHT...A SHORTWAVE EJECTS INTO THE SOUTHERN US WHICH
WILL AID IN DEVELOPING A BROAD SURFACE LOW FURTHER NORTH. DURING
THIS PERIOD...A PERSISTENT AREA OF PRECIP WILL LIKELY DEVELOP
NORTH OF THE SURFACE LOW CENTER WHERE WARM CONVEYOR BELT
CONVERGENCE IS MAXIMIZED AS IT BIFURCATES CYCLONICALLY AROUND THE
LOW CENTER. CONTINUED MOISTENING OF AN EXPANDING WARM SECTOR
SHOULD OCCUR OVERNIGHT WITH SHOWERS AND RAINFALL DEVELOPING ALONG
AND NORTH OF THE SURFACE WARM FRONT. CONVECTION WILL BEGIN
DEVELOPING NEAR THE GULF COAST ALONG CONVERGENCE LINES AND SPREAD
NORTH THROUGH THE NIGHT ORIENTED NORTH TO SOUTH ALONG THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THIS BAND WILL BE THE FEATURE TO WATCH WITH
REGARD TO WHERE THE HEAVIEST AXIS OF RAINFALL WILL SET UP.
BY FRIDAY MORNING...A BROAD SURFACE LOW WILL BE LOCATED NEAR THE
ARKLATEX WITH AN INVERTED TROUGH EXTENDING NORTHEAST THROUGH THE
BOOTHEEL OF MO INTO THE OHIO VALLEY. AS THE SURFACE LOW MOVES
NORTH...THE AFOREMENTIONED BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
DO SO WITH IT. GIVEN THE PARALLEL ORIENTATION OF DEEP LAYER SHEAR
VECTORS TO STORM MOTION...THIS BAND WILL LIKELY TRAIN OVER THE
SAME AREAS REPEATEDLY AS IT LIFTS NORTH. RAINFALL RATES WILL BE
HIGHEST IN CONVECTION AND A WIDESPREAD 1-2 INCHES OF RAINFALL
WILL LIKELY FALL WITHIN THIS BAND. HIGHEST STORM-TOTAL AMOUNTS
WILL BE LOCATED ALONG AND JUST WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THAT
BEING SAID...AN EAST/WEST SHIFT OF THIS BAND OF CONVECTION COULD
HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS ON WHERE THE HEAVIEST RAINS FALL AND THIS
WILL NEED TO BE WATCHED AS THE EVENT NEARS.
GIVEN ANTECEDENT CONDITIONS AND THE EXPECTED PROLONGED PERIOD OF
RAINFALL...THE FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT. IN
ADDITION...SEVERAL COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN TN/NORTHEAST MS WERE ADDED
TO THE WATCH GIVEN SATURATED SOILS AND ONGOING FLOODING IN THE
REGION. RISES ON AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE
WEEKEND.
BY SATURDAY...THE SURFACE LOW WILL CONTINUE TO WEAKEN AND LIFT
NORTHEAST. THE LOW LEVELS REMAIN SATURATED THROUGH THE DAY AND
EXPECT THAT CLOUDS AND LIGHT SHOWERS WILL LINGER.
MEDIUM TO LONG-TERM
BY SUNDAY...THE SYSTEM WILL HAVE EXITED THE MID-SOUTH LEAVING DRY
CONDITIONS IN ITS WAKE. UPPER LEVEL FLOW DAMPENS SOMEWHAT IN THE
LONG TERM AS THE CUTOFF LOW OVER CENTRAL MEXICO BECOMES ABSORBED
