North Platte River near Lisco affecting Garden County.
North Platte River at Lewellen affecting Garden and Keith Counties.
.Recent very heavy rain across Wyoming and the panhandle of Nebraska
is combining with high water from above normal Rocky Mountain snow
melt to create flooding along the North Platte River upstream of
Lake McConaughy. Heavy rainfall the past two days has caused
additional releases from upstream reservoirs and a rise in the
forecast. The latest crest forecast at Lisco is 5.3 feet Sunday
into Monday next week. The latest crest forecast at Lewellen is
8.3 feet next Monday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Safety Message. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water
covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your
car to cross safely and the road beneath may not be intact. Vehicles

.Latest crest along the South Platte River has made it through North
Platte as of early Saturday morning. The river crested near 14.0
feet but has begun to recede. The crest will move down the
Platte River and reach Brady later this afternoon. With no widespread
heavy rainfall expected in the river basin over the next 7 days
additional rises in river levels are not likely, however flows will
remain high through the next couple weeks as snow continues to melt
out of the upstream basin.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely
and the road beneath may not be intact. Vehicles caught in rising
waters should be abandoned quickly.

* At 8:45 AM Saturday June 20 the stage was 13.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river reached a crest around 14.0 feet overnight
and has begun to slowly recede. Further reductions in flows are
expected to continue through the coming days with the river falling
below flood stage by mid to late day Tuesday. River levels will
remain high between 12.0 and 13.0 feet through the end of
next week.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet...Moderate flood stage. Flooding of yards
and basements may occur along the South Platte River. Water may
flow over Buffalo Bill Road just north of the South Platte River
Bridge. Water may continue to back up in storm drains in the City
of North Platte.

southwest Nebraska show receding water levels Sunday morning as the
latest crest has moved downstream. Widespread heavy rainfall is not
expected over the next 7 days so another significant rise in river
levels are not likely, however flows will remain high through the
next couple weeks as snow continues to melt out of the upstream
basin.
The North Platte River upstream of Lake McConaughy will remain high
through the foreseeable future as upstream reservoirs release excess
water.
