...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Flatrock River...
  Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White River...Youngs Creek...



.Extensive to significant flooding will occur through March 18 in
southern Indiana.  This will be the highest river levels
for southern Indiana since late December 2013.

Numerous local river roads will remain flooded for several days. 
Flooding will affect some residential areas.  Flooding will persist
for a week or more.

Lesser flooding is in progress in central and western Indiana. 
Lowland flooding will continue for 1 to 5 days.  High water will
affect a few local roads and river parks.

Rainfall since Thursday night ranged from an inch or so in central
Indiana to nearly 4 inches in southwest Indiana.  Much of southern
Indiana received over 2 inches of rain along and south of US Highway
50.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* until late Thursday night.
* At 10:00 PM Saturday the stage was 16.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 17.0 feet by 
  tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday 
  afternoon.
* At 17.0 feet...Flooding becomes more extensive.  Although this level
  is fairly frequent...many local and state roads flood.  Seymour 
  gravel pit begins to flood.  Livestock and equipment must be 
  relocated to higher ground.  High water surrounds river residences 
  near Rockford.  CR 760 E south of river gaging station is 
  impassable.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 27.6 feet by 
  Tuesday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage 
  Sunday before midnight.
* At 28.0 feet...Extensive river flooding in progress.  Residential 
  areas near the river begin to flood.  The county bridge locally 
  known as the Buddha bypass bridge becomes inaccessible.   Several 
  local roads are flooded including Duncan Rd/Tunnelton Rd...Fort 
  Ritner at the underpass and post office...Old Buddha Rd...Tunneton 
  Rd at the RR crossing and West Sparksville Bridge Rd.

  Sunday afternoon.
* At 25.0 feet...Extensive lowland flooding is in progress.  Bedford 
  boat club is accessed by boat only.  Some local residents walk to 
  their homes.  Several roads are closed including SR 450 east of 
  Williams and Stumphole Bridge Rd. in Western Lawrence County.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 12.5 feet by 
  early Monday morning. The river will fall below flood stage early 
  Monday morning.
* At 12.0 feet...River begins to be noticeable as water backs up in 
  local streams.  State Road 450 closes in several locations.  Road 
  to Williams Bridge begins to flood.  Higher campgrounds flood.  
  Most roads in the flood plain are impassable above this level.  
  Huron-Williams Road begins to flood south of Port Williams Road.

  Saturday early afternoon.
* At 23.7 feet...During prolonged high water of late March and early 
  April 2008, Windom Road had one lane open.  On March 11 2011 SR 550
  just south of Loogootee was closed by high water on the south side 
  of the river.  At least one nearby county road was flooded.  
  Considerabe lowland flooding in progress.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.4 feet by 
  early Tuesday morning. The river will fall below flood stage 
  Saturday evening.
* At 20.0 feet...Water is at Critical levels for makeshift levees.  
  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State Road 358 
  between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by several feet.
  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of flood occurs on 
  average about once a year.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 24.5 feet by 
  early Monday morning then begin falling.
* At 24.2 feet...During April 2013 when Petersburg reached this level,
  the water only reached the white line of SR 257 south of 
  Washington, but never closed the road.  Shoals only went to 11.67 
  feet during April 2013.  This is the first that locals can remember
  such a high stage for Petersburg and SR 257 remaining open.

  behind Illinois levees extending from Russellville to U.S. Highway 
  50.  Flooding of agricultural land begins in Knox County Indiana 
  west of the railroad extending for the Oaktown area to the

QUIET WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO RETURN TO CENTRAL INDIANA AS INDIANA
SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS WEEK KICKS OFF. HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE
PLAINS STATES IS EXPECTED TO BUILD ACROSS CENTRAL INDIANA TONIGHT
AND SLOWLY PASS ACROSS THE STATE THROUGH TUESDAY. THIS WILL BRING
DRY AND MILD WEATHER TO THE STATE.

A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL PUSH INTO THE AREA ON TUESDAY
NIGHT. LITTLE TO NO MOISTURE IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS SYSTEM AND THIS
WILL RESULT IN A DRY WEATHER ALONG WIT THE ARRIVAL OF SLIGHTLY
COOLER TEMPERATURES ON TUESDAY.

SURFACE ANALYSIS EARLY THIS AFTERNOON SHOWS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY
SOUTH OF THE OHIO RIVER WHILE HIGH PRESSURE WAS IN PLACE OVER THE
PLAINS STATES. NORTHERLY SURFACE FLOW WAS IN PLACE ACROSS CENTRAL
INDIANA WITH DEW POINTS IN THE 40S. RADAR NO LONGER SHOWED ECHOS
ACROSS CENTRAL INDIANA AND VISIBLE PICTURES SHOW THIN CLOUDS
BUILDING FROM THE NORTHWEST REPLACING THE THICKER CLOUDS NEAR THE
DEPARTING FRONT.

THE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BUILD ACROSS CENTRAL
INDIANA TONIGHT LEADING TO CLEAR SKIES. FORECAST SOUNDINGS AND
TIME HEIGHT SECTIONS SHOW CLEAR SKIES. THUS MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES
WILL WORK FINE. GOOD RADIATIONAL COOLING APPEARS TO BE SET UP AS
CLEAR SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS ARE EXPECTED WILL TREND LOWS AT OR
BELOW MAVMOS. ACROSS THE SOUTHERN AREAS WHERE PLENTIFUL RAIN FALL

DRY WEATHER LOOKS TO BE IN PLACE DURING THIS PERIOD AS SURFACE
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS SETTLES ACROSS THE
TENNESSEE VALLEY BEFORE DRIFTING TOWARD THE DEEP SOUTH. THIS WILL
EFFECTIVELY CUT OFF ANY GULF MOISTURE FROM REACHING CENTRAL
INDIANA OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. FORECAST SOUNDINGS THROUGH THE
PERIOD REMAIN DRY WITH UNREACHABLE CONVECTIVE TEMPERATURES. THUS
WE WILL ONLY LOOK FOR SOME PASSING HIGH CLOUDS FROM TIME TO TIME
AMID THE NW FLOW ALOFT.

AS FOR TEMPS WILL TREND HIGHS AT OR ABOVE MAVMOS GIVEN THE STRONG

SOME MIXING. THUS WILL TREND LOWS AT OR ABOVE MAVMOS.

STUPENDOUS DAY IN STORE FOR MONDAY WITH LOW HUMIDITY...WARM SW
BREEZES AND PLENTY OF SUN AS WE REMAIN UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE
HIGH PRESSURE. 850MB TEMPS RISE TOWARD 14C ON MONDAY. WITH GOOD
MIXING AND A WARMER START WILL AIM FOR HIGHS IN THE LOWER 70S AT
MOST SPOTS.

A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY LOOKS TO SAG SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE FORECAST
AREA ON MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. WITH GULF MOISTURE EFFECTIVELY
