...A Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...

  Big Blue River...Big Walnut Creek...Buck Creek...Driftwood River...

  Creek...Sugar Creek...Tippecanoe River...Wabash River...White 
  River...Wildcat Creek...Youngs Creek...Kankakee River...Patoka
  River...Vermilion River


.Significant flooding developed in portions of eastern Illinois and
portions of central Indiana following rains of 1 to more than 2
inches on Monday. Significant flooding will occur along the Wabash
and portions of the White...East Fork White and Patoka Rivers by the
weekend.  Extensive lowland flooding continued in much of the
remainder of Indiana.

Total rainfall from Saturday morning through Tuesday morning in
eastern Illinois and the state of Indiana ranges from 2 to nearly 8
inches. The heaviest rainfall was in west central Indiana and east
central Illinois.

Flooding crests will occur from Wednesday in portions of central
Indiana to January 6 in southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois.
Flooding will persist from less than a day on very small streams to
more than 2 weeks in southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois. 

Significant river flooding impacts numerous local and state roads ...
extensive agricultural lands and a few residential areas.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 14.4 feet by this
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage late Thursday 
  morning.
* At 14.9 feet...Extensive flooding along Driftwood River in northern 
  Bartholomew County on March 7 2011.   Double Y Saddle Club area 
  extensively flooded.  Water flowing over CR 950 N to Club.  CR 330W
  is flooded just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd.  CR 
  500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to 
  residences near the river bank.  Lowell Public Access site is 
  completely flooded.  Water very near several residences and 
  seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W.

* At 11.2 feet...State Road 11 in the Garden City area closed at this 
  level during March 2008 flood.  Every road leading to or crossing 
  the East Fork White River in Bartholomew County except for State 
  Road 46 was flooded during the bigger March 2008 flood.  All roads 
  were flooded in June 2008.

* At 18.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress.  More than 50% of 
  the flood plain in Jackson County is underwater.  Flood waters near
  the east edge of Medora.  High water isolates wastewater treatment 
  plant at Seymour.  Many county roads that do not cross the river 
  begin to flood.  Many state and county roads are impassable by 
  water.  High water affects many rural residents...but only a few 
  evacuations are necessary.  Flood waters surround most river 
  cabins.

  Ritner at the underpass and post office...Old Buddha Rd...Tunnelton
  Rd at the RR crossing and West Sparksville Bridge Rd.

  rise to near 21.5 feet by Sunday early afternoon.the river will 
  fall below flood stage by early Tuesday morning.
* At 22.0 feet...Lowland flooding affects all local roads in the flood
  plain.  Farmers must move some livestock to higher ground.  State 
  Road 550 floods on left bank.  Roads that flood include West River,
  Spout Spring, Cemetery, East River, Chicken Farm and a few other 
  side roads near the river.  East Fork White River forms at least 
  one island.  Two families are nearly isolated.  Significant 
  agricultural flooding is in progress.
