...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
western and southern Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White 
  River...Youngs Creek...



.River flooding will continue through the holiday weekend and into
next week in much of western and southern Indiana.  Rains of 1 to
possibly more than 4 inches in portions of southern Indiana on
Saturday caused some renewed flooding.

Dry weather through Monday will allow river levels to continue to
fall in most areas through Tuesday.  Rainfall after Monday may
cause some renewed flooding and prolong river flooding past July 11
along the Wabash River in southwest Indiana.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on 
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22 
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

  tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage late 
  Wednesday morning.
* At 20.9 feet...During June 2010 State Road 257 south of Washington 
  began to flood at this crest level at Petersburg after Shoals 
  crested at 18.19 feet.  About a week later Petersburg crested at 
  21.34 feet...about one half foot higher...but the water did not 
  reach State Road 257 after Shoals crested at 15.59 feet...about 2.5
  feet lower.  Lost River did not contribute much water during this 
  June flood and locally it was not extremely wet.

* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 22.9 feet

* At 24.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress.  Most levees are 
  at critical levels.  Water level near the top of a few levees.  
  High water begins to affect residences in eastern Palestine, 
  Illinois and those along East River road just southeast of 
  Palestine.  Some evacuations are necessary. Rodeo area in Leaverton
  Park begins to flood.  Water near or over East River Road south of 
  Palestine.

* At 10:30 AM Saturday the stage was 20.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  early tomorrow.
* At 20.5 feet...Lawrenceport Road just east of Lawrenceport and on 
  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22 
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

* At 20.0 feet...Water is at Critical levels for makeshift levees.  
  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State Road 358 
  between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by several feet.
  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of flood occurs on 
  average about once a year.

* At 10:30 AM Saturday the stage was 20.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.7 feet by 
  tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage late 
  Wednesday morning.
* At 20.9 feet...During June 2010 State Road 257 south of Washington 
  began to flood at this crest level at Petersburg after Shoals 
  crested at 18.19 feet.  About a week later Petersburg crested at 
  21.34 feet...about one half foot higher...but the water did not 
  reach State Road 257 after Shoals crested at 15.59 feet...about 2.5
  feet lower.  Lost River did not contribute much water during this 
  June flood and locally it was not extremely wet.

WEAK RIDGING ALOFT AND HIGH PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE WILL RESULT IN
DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS THROUGH MONDAY. THE AMPLE SUNSHINE WILL
RESULT IN A WARMING TREND THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD WITH TEMPS NEAR
NORMAL ON SUNDAY...AND ABOVE NORMAL BY MONDAY. HIGHS ARE PROJECTED
TO CLIMB INTO THE MID TO UPPER 80S BY THE END OF THE PERIOD.

PATTERN WILL CHANGE LATE IN THE PERIOD AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES

CONVERGENCE. MID LEVELS SUGGEST SOME AREAS OF HIGH RH PUSHING OVER
