...The National Weather Service at Indianapolis has issued a Flood
Warning for the following river in north central Indiana...
Tippecanoe River...
.Extensive lowland flooding will occur along the Tippecanoe Tiver
downstream of Oakdale Dam in Carroll County. Lowland flooding will
also develop along the Wabash River in Tippecanone County. NIPSCO
reported the flow from Oakdale Dam had exceeded 13,000 cubic feet per
second.
Rainfall...possibly exceeding 3 inches...fell in portions of North
Central Indiana. The Tippecanoe River will rise steadily for hours
after the rain ends. There may be more than one crest. Remain alert
until a significant fall occurs in the Tippecanoe River.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Persons with interests threatened by rising water should take
precautions immediately. Flooding will become extensive. Several
local roads... river parks and recreational areas will flood.
Motorists should not attempt to drive through any flooded roads. Turn
around...Do not drown. Keep children away from flooded areas.

* At 3 AM Tuesday the flow was...14460 cfs.
* Flood flow is 13,000 cfs.
* Forecast...The flood from Oakdale Dam will increase to near 15000
cfs through daybreak.
* Extensive lowland flooding with a few evacuations possible and
minimal property damage. Flood flow releases from Oakdale Dam
between 13,000 and 18,000 cubic feet per second. More extensive
flooding may develop. Some local river roads in Carroll...White and
Tippecanoe counties flood.

The Wabash River at Covington.* At 10:45 AM Tuesday the stage was 19.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.8 feet by
Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Wednesday
early afternoon.
* With water levels near 25.6 feet...The Wabash River is nearly 3
miles wide along SR 234 by backing up into Coal Creek on the west
side of Lodi and the Vermillion River on the northside of Cayuga.
Flood waters are at the edge of the northside of SR 234 but not on
the road. North Sandhill Road and W CR 260 N on the northeast side
of Covington extensively flooded in places. Silver Island Road
just south of SR 32 is impassable.

.Heavy rainfall yesterday and overnight...along with already elevated
river levels have led to minor to moderate flooding along the
East Fork of the White River...Tippecanoe River...Wabash River and
the White River. The magnitude of flow from the Oakdale Dam has not
been seen since approximately March 2009. With additional
rainfall in the forecast through the week, flooding is
expected to continue over the next several days.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

.With already elevated river levels and days of possible heavy
rainfall still in the forecast, minor to moderate flooding along
the Wabash, White, East Fork of the White, Tippecanoe, and
Mississinewa Rivers is expected to continue. The magnitude of flow
from Oakdale Dam has not been seen since approximately March 2009.
With the additional rainfall in the forecast through the week,
flooding in some areas will continue well into next week. Significant
flooding remains a possibility as well.

The magnitude of flow from Oakdale Dam has not been seen since
approximately March 2009. With the additional rainfall in the
forecast through the week, flooding in some areas will continue well
into next week. Significant flooding remains a possibility as well.

rainfall still in the forecast, minor to moderate flooding along

Rivers...and Deer and Wildcat Creeks is expected to continue.
The magnitude of flow from Oakdale Dam has not been seen since
approximately March 2009. With the additional rainfall in the
forecast through the week, flooding in some areas will continue well
into next week. Significant flooding remains a possibility as well.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
Indiana...
Deer Creek...Tippecanoe River...Wabash River...White River...Wildcat
Creek...
.With already elevated river levels and scattered showers and
thunderstorms in the forecast through the weekend, particularly
across the southern half of Indiana from the remnants of Tropical
Depression Bill, minor to moderate flooding is expected to continue
in central Indiana. Southern Indiana has not seen much rain recently
so this will help combat the expected plentiful rainfall.
As of Thursday evening, the crest along the Wabash River was near
Lafayette. The river was in the moderate flood category at Americus,
Battleground, Lafayette, and Covington. Flooding along the river
will last as late as the week of the 28th.
The Tippecanoe River, feeding into the Wabash from the north, had
flooding continuing but decreasing below Oakdale Dam and at Delphi.
Crests along the White River are expected to be near flood stage,
thus impacts should be minimal.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
western...central and southern Indiana...
Big Raccoon Creek...Eagle Creek...East Fork White River...Eel
River...Tippecanoe River...Wabash River...White River...Wildcat
Creek...
.Widespread river flooding will develop this weekend in central
Indiana. Significant flooding is now expected along the Wabash River
in the Montezuma...Clinton and Terre Haute areas in western Indiana.
Flooding will last from 1 to 3 days in parts of central Indiana to
10 or more days in southwest Indiana.
Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches fell in much of central and southern
Indiana since Thursday morning. Additional rainfall of an inch or
more is possible in southern Indiana by Saturday afternoon. Since
June 12...much of central and southern Indiana received 2 to 5 inches
of rainfall with 4 to more than 8 inches in north central Indiana.
Flooding will affect residential areas along portions of the Wabash
River...numerous roads and extensive agricultural lands throughout
Indiana and eastern Illinois.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

* At 16.0 feet...Low land flooding is occurring along portions of the
river. Sonnefield Road at Mcintyre Creek is impassable. Water is
on portions of Pioneer Road in the vicinity of CR 50 N. A
frequently reached level from December through June. An unusual
level for September and October. This level threatens campers.
