  Wilkinson Counties


.Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and
rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

The latest stage data was furnished in cooperation with the United 
States Geological Survey.

* Forecast to rise above flood stage by early Wednesday morning and 
  continue to rise to near 17.4 feet by Wednesday evening.The river 
  will fall below flood stage by Thursday early afternoon.
* At 17 feet...Flood stage is reached. The water level reaches the 
  top of the Old Balls Ferry Road boat ramp...just upstream and 
  rightbank from the Georgia Highway 57 bridge. Minor flooding of

  Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail floods north of the Martin 
  Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be around one 
  foot deep on portions of the trail and both banks overflow upstream
  from the bridge. Large portions of agricultural lands well 
  downstream will be under one to three feet of water.

* The river will continue rising...reaching near 20.5 feet after 
  midnight early Wednesday morning. The river is expected to fall 
  below flood stage early Thursday morning.
* At 21 feet...Minor flooding expands with an increasing amount of the 
  Macon Greenway Ocmulgee Heritage Trail flooded north of the Martin 
  Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to two 
  feet deep on portions of the trail and both banks of the river 
  overflow upstream from the bridge. Large portions of the agricultural 
  lands east of Macon and well downstream will be under 1 to 4 feet of

  this portion of the trail. In addition...the lowest sections of the
  Charles Jones Gateway Park will flood. Portions of agricultural

CAROLINAS AND FAR EAST GEORGIA BUT FEATURE AS FAR AS THE PRESSURE
PATTERN IS CONCERNED IS NOT AS IMPRESSIVE AS YESTERDAY. STILL
THOUGH...WEDGE LIKE RESULTS CONTINUE ACROSS THE LOCAL AREA WITH
UPPER 40S TO LOW 50S AND SOLID LOW OVERCAST WITH PERIODS OF
DRIZZLE AND LIGHT RAIN. STILL SEEING SOME INFLUENCE OF A LOW LEVEL
